摘要: A die clamping apparatus including a movable plate which is in connection with a pushing-out pin which is projected from and retracted to a moving die and which is held movably with respect to a moving die plate, a clamp member for obtaining a constraint of the movable member, an air cylinder and a hook member. Only a movement of the movable member is constraint by the air cylinder with respect to the moving die plate when the latter is moved in a die opening direction from a die opening limit position, so that a resultant relative movement between the movable plate and the moving die plate, which causes the pushing-out pin to be projected from the moving die, resulting in a removal of a molded product, while the constraint of the movable member prevents the moving die plate from being moved in the die closing direction when the moving die plate in the die opening limit position is under non clamping condition.

摘要: The present invention relates to an optical fiber fabrication method by which an optical fiber having an objective chromatic dispersion characteristic can be obtained readily. In an optical fiber fabrication method, a cutoff wavelength is measured in an optical fiber with a fixed length obtained by first drawing a part of an optical fiber preform. A target glass diameter for yielding an objective chromatic dispersion characteristic is then determined based on the cutoff wavelength thus measured. Then the rest of the optical fiber preform is drawn so that the glass diameter becomes the target glass diameter thus determined, thereby fabricating the optical fiber.

摘要: A method and apparatus for rapidly and accurately determining fiber orientation of paper which is at a standstill or moving in a paper machine employs a projector which projects a light beam perpendicularly to an incident surface of the paper to be tested. The light beam reflected by the incident paper surface is caught by eight or more light receivers distributed on a circumference of a circle on the incident surface side of the paper. The circle is defined in a plane extending in parallel to the paper surface and having an axis at the point where the above-mentioned parallel plane intersects an axis of the incident light beam. A light information signal output from the light receivers are subjected to a processing to obtain the fiber orientation characteristics, such as fiber orientation index value and fiber orientation angle.

摘要: A process of producing a diffraction grating comprises the steps of forming a coating layer on a first diffraction grating layer of a resin formed on a substrate without damaging the diffraction grating layer, removing a portion of the coating layer positioned on the first diffraction grating layer by etching to form a second diffraction grating layer of the coating layer having the reverse phase to that of the first diffraction grating layer, removing the first diffraction grating layer, and etching the substrate with a mask of the second diffraction grating layer, so that the diffraction grating having the reverse phase can be easily produced. When the first diffraction grating layer is left and both the first and second diffraction grating layers are used as a mask, the diffraction grating having a period half times as large as that of the first grating layer can be easily produced.

摘要: A semiconductor laser device includes an active layer, a first semiconductor layer having a larger energy band gap than the active layer, a diffraction grating layer having a larger energy band gap than the active layer and a smaller energy band gap than the first semiconductor layer, and a second semiconductor layer having the same composition as the first semiconductor layer, successively grown on the active layer, parallel stripe grooves of predetermined period reaching the first semiconductor layer produced at the entire surface of the grown layers, a cladding layer having the same composition as the first semiconductor layer which is re-grown thereon, and a diffraction grating constituted by the remainder of the diffraction grating layer. The coupling coefficient of the light is determined by the film thickness of a layer produced between the active layer and the diffraction grating layer, and the amplitude of the diffraction grating is determined by the layer thickness of the diffraction grating layer. Therefore, the coupling coefficient can be set at a design value at high precision and at high reproducibility.
