摘要： A semiconductor laser device includes a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type; opposed light emitting facets; a double heterojunction structure disposed on the semiconductor substrate and including an optical waveguide that extends between the facets and comprises a light emitting region and a lens region, the lens region being between the light emitting region and one of the facets, the double heterojunction structure including a plurality of AlGaAs series compound semiconductor layers which are thicker in the light emitting region than in the lens region; and a current blocking structure disposed on both sides of the double heterojunction structure and including a lower AlGaAs series compound semiconductor layer of the first conductivity type, an intermediate AlGaAs series compound semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type, opposite the first conductivity type, and an upper AlGaAs series compound semiconductor layer of the first conductivity type. Therefore, a reactive current that does not contribute to laser oscillation is prevented from flowing through the current blocking structure.

摘要： A shadow mask is arranged in an envelope and opposes a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of a face plate. The shadow mask includes a plurality of mask pieces arranged in series. Each of the mask pieces has effective portions in which a number of electron beam passage apertures are formed. A plurality of mask frames supporting the respective mask pieces are fixed to the inner surface of the face plate. A plurality of stages are provided on the inner surface of the face plate. Each of the stages has a first end in contact with the inner surface of the face plate and a second end in contact with one of the mask piece, so as to define a distance between each of the mask pieces and the phosphor screen and to apply a tensile force to the mask piece.

摘要： A color cathode-ray tube comprises an envelope having rectangular flat face and rear plates opposing each other. A phosphor screen is formed on an inner surface of the face plate. Mask support members are mounted on an inner surface of the rear plate. A shadow mask is arranged in the envelope and supported by the mask support members to face the phosphor screen at a predetermined distance. A plurality of positioning posts are fixed on the inner surface of the rear plate and extend toward the face plate. A plurality of positioning pins extend from the inner surface of the face plate and engage the positioning posts so as to position the face plate at a predetermined position with respect to the rear plate. The shadow mask has setting openings through which the positioning posts extend so as to position the shadow mask at a predetermined position with respect to the rear plate.

摘要： A color cathode ray tube comprises a vacuum envelope including a substantially rectangular faceplate having a first axis and a second axis perpendicular to the first axis and a plurality of necks opposing to the faceplate. A plurality of electron gun assemblies are received in the necks respectively. A phosphor screen is formed on the inner surface of the faceplate and includes a plurality of continuous segment regions scanned with electron beams emitted from corresponding ones of the assemblies. The mask member is received in the vacuum envelope and has a plurality of effective regions through which the electron beam pass. A plurality of effective regions are formed into a plurality of groups.

摘要： A cathode-ray tube includes an envelope having a rectangular face plate and a rectangular, flat rear plate opposed to the face plate. A phosphor screen is formed on the inner surface of the face plate and has a number striped phosphor layers extending in parallel to one another, and a plurality of regions which are independently scanned by electron beams. A mask support mechanism for supporting a shadow mask in the envelope comprises first mask support members fixed to the inner surface of the rear plate and situated to face first longitudinal ends of the phosphor layers, second mask support members fixed to the inner surface of the rear plate and situated to face second longitudinal ends of the phosphor layers, and central mask support members fixed to the inner surface of the rear plate and situated between the first and second support portions. The shadow mask is supported on the mask support members while being applied with a tensile force in the longitudinal direction of the phosphor layers.

摘要： A semiconductor laser device includes a first conductivity type cladding layer, an active layer, and a second conductivity type cladding layer disposed on a first conductivity type substrate. A multiquantum barrier structure is disposed between the active layer and one of the cladding layers. The active layer includes a layer with a lattice constant different from the lattice constant of the first conductivity type substrate by at least 0.1 percent so that a strain is applied to the active layer. The threshold current is significantly reduced, resulting in a high power semiconductor laser capable of operating at a high temperature.

摘要： A color cathode ray tube includes a vacuum envelope including a panel having a single glass faceplate including an inner surface and central axis and a skirt extending from the faceplate, a rear metal plate hermetically connected to the skirt through a first connecting member, a plurality of funnels coupled to the rear plate through a second connecting member, and a plurality of necks respectively extending from the funnels. In the vacuum envelope, are provided a plurality of electron gun assemblies respectively received in the necks for emitting a plurality of electron beams, a screen formed on the inner surface of the faceplate for emitting visible light by excitation of the electron beams from the electron gun assemblies, and a mask received in the vacuum envelope so as to face to the screen and having an effective region for allowing passage of the electron beams to impinge on the screen. The first connecting member has stabilizing means for absorbing strain caused by difference between a thermal expansion amount of the rear plate and that of the panel.
