There is provided a method for manufacturing a laser welded steel pipe in which the status of laser welding is accurately assessed, and the assessment is used to modify welding conditions, so that laser welded steel pipes can be manufactured at a high yield rate and in a stable manner. Irradiation point(s) of laser beam(s), with which the longitudinal edges are irradiated from the side of the outer surface, are monitored from the side of the inner surface of an open pipe, and then conditions of welding with the laser beam(s) are assessed to be kept unchanged if any keyhole is found penetrating out of the inner surface of the open pipe, or modified if no keyhole is found penetrating out of the inner surface of the open pipe.

An information processing apparatus includes an image taking means for taking images of a subject, a class-classification means for classifying a first image outputted by the image taking means into a class according to a characteristics thereof, a storage means for storing plural coefficient memories having different image taking conditions at the time of image taking, which store prediction coefficients according to the class acquired by learning, a designation means for designating one coefficient memory from among the plural coefficient memories based on the image taking condition when the image was taken by the image taking means, and a calculation means for calculating a second image in which noise is removed from the first image by calculating a prediction coefficient of the class of the first image, which is in the designated coefficient memory.

An apparatus for monitoring a video signal comprises means (11) for receiving a video signal (X(video), Y(video), Z(video)) having X-, Y- and Z-components, means (13) for calculating a position (x(video), y(video)) having an x-axis component and a y-axis component on a xy chromaticity diagram from the video signal in accordance with a predetermined conversion formula, and means (14) for displaying the position (59). The means (14) can display a triangle (57, 58) which connects three xy-values corresponding to R-, G- and B-components, respectively, which belong to a predetermined color reference system, a range (56) on the xy chromaticity diagram which can be viewed by humans, and/or a marker (60) for a range of an xvYCC display system. The means (14) can indicates whether or not the video signal represents a color (x(video), y(video)) which is located out of a predetermined range (51-54). The xy chromaticity diagram can be transformed, for example, to a UCS chromaticity diagram.

The invention provides a block polymer capable of being used as a molecular wire facilitating injection of carriers between itself and an electrode, and a device in which electrodes are bridged by one molecule. The block polymer has a main chain composed of polyacetylene having a spiral structure, and includes a coating insulating block and a conductive block. The coating insulating block has a polyacetylene unit structure having alkyl chains at its side chains through functional groups, the alkyl chains being arranged in a direction parallel to the major axis of the main chain. The conductive block has a polyacetylene unit structure having hydrogen atoms at its side chains through functional groups, the hydrogen atoms being arranged in a direction parallel to the major axis of the main chain. The device has the above-mentioned block polymer, and two or more electrodes.
