The invention relates to photopolymerizable compositions comprising (a) a prepolymer containing photopolymerizable olefinic double bonds, (b) photoinitiator of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are as defined in claim 1, and optionally (c) an ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid or an allyl ether or allyl ester of a polyol.Owing to their excellent light sensitivity, these compositions are suitable for the economic production of high temperature resistant protective layers and relief structures having excellent resolution and good contours.

New crosslinkable polymers, in particular polymerization products of 5-maleimidyl-isophthalic acid derivatives and 5-(nadic acid)-isophthalic acid derivatives and vinyl monomers and polycondensation products of the said isophthalic acid derivatives and diamines, diols or aminoalcohols and optionally a di-, tri- or tetra-carboxylic acid derivative are described. These polymers are distinguished by good processability and good solubility in customary organic solvents and are suitable for the manufacture of various industrial products, such as thin films, thick films and compression mouldings. spThis is a Divisional of application Ser. There is described a process for the production of maleimides, particularly N-substituted maleimides or N,N'-bis-maleimides, by isomerization of the corresponding isoimides in the presence of specific catalysts, such as mixtures of phenol and triethylamine. Maleimides of high purity and in good to very good yields under mild conditions and with the use of small amounts of catalyst are obtained by the process according to the invention.

Disclosed herein is a gear selection method and device for an automatic transmission for a traction phase (Z2) after a coasting phase (S) of a motor vehicle. According to the method, in a traction phase (Z1) before the coasting phase (S), a sliding average value of the rotational speed level (n) and/or of the traction force level (Fx) is formed depending on the particular velocity (v) and particular gradient (ST) and is taken into consideration for defining at least one gear choice of the automatic transmission for the traction phase (Z2) after the particular coasting phase (S).
