    摘要: This invention comprises improvements to processes for the catalytic cracking of hydrocarbon feedstocks. One such improvement to catalytic cracking processes provides compositions comprising metals passivating agents having an increased degree of stability. These compositions comprise aqueous suspensions of antimony by vinyl copolymers, aqueous suspensions of antimony oxide by diesters of phosphoric acid, or aqueous suspensions of antimony oxide by cellulose derivatives. Another improvement to catalytic cracking processes provides a process for reducing the viscosity of liquid suspensions of metals passivating agents without substantially reducing the stability of the liquid suspension by the utilization of at least two different particle ranges of metals passivating agents. A further improvement to catalytic cracking processes provides an efficient utilization of metals passivating agents by introducing the selected agent into the catalyst regeneration cycle of a catalytic cracking unit.

    摘要: A process for preparing silica-alumina compositions comprises mixing a first aqueous solution containing an aluminum salt (preferably KAl(SO.sub.4).sub.2) and an ammonium salt (preferably (NH.sub.4).sub.2 SO.sub.4) with a second solution containing an alkali metal silicate (preferably Na.sub.2 SiO.sub.3), wherein the mol ratio of the alkali metal silicate to the aluminum salt is in the range of from about 2:1 to about 20:1, and the concentration of the ammonium salt is chosen so as to afford coprecipitation of silica-alumina hydrogel (preferably at a pH of about 3-6). The thus coprecipitated silica-alumina hydrogel can be separated from the mixture of the two solutions, optionally washed, and calcined so as to prepare acidic silica-alumina suitable as cracking catalyst material.

    摘要: A treated decomposable compound of molybdenum, which has been prepared by the catalytic hydrogenation of a decomposable compound of molybdenum, wherein the molybdenum has a valence state greater than zero, or by the treating of the decomposable compound of molybdenum with a reducing agent, is mixed with a hydrocarbon-containing feed stream. The hydrocarbon-containing feed stream containing such treated decomposable compound of molybdenum is then contacted with a catalyst composition comprising a support selected from the group consisting of alumina, silica and silica alumina and a promoter comprising at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Group VIB, Group VIIB, and Group VIII of the Periodic Table to reduce the concentration of metals, sulfur, nitrogen, Ramsbottom carbon residue and/or heavies contained in the hydrocarbon-containing feed stream.
