    摘要: An oriented multilayer film is provided, the film including in at least one outer layer an ethylene copolymer having a density of 0.900-0.935 g/cm3 and a CDBI of 50-95% the outer layer is in contact with a polypropylene core layer, and the film is made by coextrusion of the ethylene copolymer and the polypropylene layer and subsequent orientation. The coextruded layers can be uniaxially oriented or biaxially oriented without difficulties caused by presence of low molecular weight amorphous polymer fractions inherently present in traditional Ziegler-Natta linear low density polyethylene. The optical properties of oriented polypropylene films can be retained, while the sealing temperature is lowered and the heat seal strength and the hot tack performance properties are improved.

    摘要: Plastics toughened plastics are metallocene catalyzed polyethylenes (mPE) and isotactic polypropylene (iPP). These plastic toughened plastics are useful in molded articles, most especially automotive interior trim parts. The mPE can be present in such toughened plastics from 5-40 weight percent, the iPP from 60-95 weight percent. The toughened plastics will have an excellent balance of tensile toughness, elongation and modulus at −10° C. Generally the tensile toughness will be 25-250% greater than the tensile toughness of a similarly proportioned blend of Ziegler-Natta catalyst produced polyethylene/iPP.

    摘要: High molecular weight linear copolymers of ethylene and 1-50 mole percent linear .alpha.-olefins having from 10 to 100 carbon atoms are disclosed. The polymers have M.sub.w of 30,000-1,000,000, MWD of 2-4, a density of 0.85-0.95 g/cm.sup.3, and a high composition distribution breadth index. Also disclosed are a method for making the polymers with a cyclopentadienyl metallocene catalyst system, and adhesives, films, molded articles and other products made from the copolymers.

    摘要: This invention relates to a process for polymerization, comprising (i) contacting, at a temperature greater than 35° C., one or more monomers comprising ethylene and/or propylene, with a catalyst system comprising a metallocene catalyst compound and an activator, (ii) converting at least 50 mol % of the monomer to polyolefin; and (iii) obtaining a branched polyolefin having greater than 50% allyl chain ends, relative to total unsaturated chain ends. The invention also relates to the branched polyolefins and functionalized branched polyolefins.
