Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and systems are described that implement techniques and protocols to enable a first device to send positioning information to a second device. For example, an apparatus device may include a processor configured to generate, at a first device, a data frame including an address field and a data field. The address field includes a particular value indicating that the data field includes positioning information related to a location of the first device. The apparatus also includes a transmitter configured to transmit the data frame to a second device.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for efficiently managing groups of stations (STAs) receiving simultaneous transmissions in a multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) scheme. One example method generally includes; for a first apparatus in a number of groups of apparatuses, allocating a first spatial stream position for each of at least one first group in the number of the groups; and transmitting a first unicast message to the first apparatus, wherein the first unicast message comprises an indication of the allocated spatial stream position for each of the at least one first group and, for each group in the number of the groups, an indication of a membership status, in the group, of the first apparatus.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for high-efficiency wireless frequency division multiplexing are provided. A method includes receiving, at a first wireless device, a reference signal from an associated access point, the reference signal indicative of a time of joint transmission with at least a second wireless device. The method further includes transmitting a first communication to the access point based on the reference signal, the communication utilizing a first subset of wireless frequencies available for use. The first communication is concurrent with a second communication, from the second wireless device, utilizing a second subset of wireless frequencies, the second subset excluding the first subset.
Abstract:
A particular method includes receiving a power save polling frame from a station at an access point. The method also includes, in response to receiving the power save polling frame, transmitting a frame from the access point to the station indicating whether traffic associated with the station is buffered at the access point. Another particular method includes transmitting a frame from the station to the access point indicating that the station is to enter the power save mode and refraining from entering the power save mode until receipt of an end of data frame. Yet another particular method includes receiving a fetch trigger frame at an access point and refraining from transmitting one or more fetched data frames from the access point until a fetch time has elapsed or a delivery trigger frame is received. The access point is configured to communicate with other stations during the fetch time.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for uplink (UL) multiuser multiple-input, multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmissions in a High Efficiency WLAN (HEW) system. One example method generally includes generating a packet having a preamble portion and transmitting the packet. The preamble portion typically includes a long training field (LTF); a first signal (SIG) field subsequent to the LTF; one or more other LTFs located subsequent to the first SIG field; and at least one second SIG field, wherein all SIG fields in the preamble portion, other than the first SIG field, are subsequent to the one or more other LTFs. Another example method generally includes receiving, from an apparatus, a packet having a preamble portion comprising tone-interleaved LTFs; and performing frequency offset adjustment on the packet based on the tone-interleaved LTFs.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a methods and apparatus for wireless communication. In one aspect, a method of decoding additional information about long-term evolution unlicensed (LTE-U) communications for enhancing wireless communication performance can include receiving, from a LTE-U device, a first wireless local area network (WLAN) packet reserving a communication medium over a time period. The first WLAN communication includes information about a LTE-U communication. The method further includes decoding, at a wireless device, information about the LTE-U communication.
Abstract:
A communication device for enabling phase tracking is described. The communication device includes a processor and instructions stored in memory. The communication device generates a plurality of pilot symbols. The pilot symbols conform to a rank-deficient pilot mapping matrix. The communication device also transmits the plurality of pilot symbols.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for selecting medium access parameters for each communication session are disclosed. In one aspect an access point includes a processor configured to select a value for a medium access parameter for a particular communication session between the access point and a wireless station.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for narrowband channel selection in a wireless communications network are described herein. In one aspect, a wireless communications device includes a receiver, processor, and transmitter. The receiver is configured to wirelessly receive messages from a first device over a plurality of channels. The processor is configured to estimate a quality of each channel based on one message received from the first device over each channel, select for wireless communication a first channel of the plurality of channels based on the estimated quality of each channel, and prepare a selection message indicating selection of the first channel for wireless communication. The transmitter is configured to transmit the selection message to the first device.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for the coexistence of 1 MHz and 2 MHz operation modes within a wireless communication system in accordance with IEEE 802.11ah, for example. One example method generally includes scanning a plurality of channel pairs, wherein each of the channel pairs comprises a first channel having a first channel designation and a second channel having a second channel designation; determining, based on the scan, a set of open channels from the plurality of channel pairs in which no other apparatus is operating; selecting a primary channel based on the determination; and transmitting using the selected primary channel. The selection of the primary channel involves channel selection rules disclosed herein.
