Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) having partially coherent antennas may be configured for simultaneous transmissions on groups of antennas. To achieve the benefits of simultaneous transmissions using groups of antenna that are partially coherent, without having the transmissions affect each other, the UE may apply a hybrid closed-loop multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) scheme among each antenna in the antenna groups where phase coherence can be maintained. Following the hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme, the UE may apply a transparent diversity scheme across each antenna of the groups. Alternatively, the UE may first apply the transparent diversity scheme and next apply the hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme. By applying a hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme, and a transparent diversity scheme, the UE may fully realize its resources and contribute to an improved spatial diversity for a MIMO system.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor a set of time-frequency resources for one or more cell detection signals (CDS) associated with a pseudo-random sequence, where the pseudo-random sequence and the set of time-frequency resources are indicated by an output of a pseudo-random function (PRF) that is based on a timing parameter, a cell identifier (ID), and a shared key. Accordingly, the UE may communicate with a network entity via a cell associated with the cell ID based on receiving the one or more CDS. The UE may also exchange one or more messages with the network entity, and may perform a time calibration procedure based on the one or more messages and a delay threshold of the UE. The one or more messages may indicate an ID of the UE, a cryptographic number, a time interval, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to wireless communications in a system are provided. A user equipment (UE) may receive from a base station (BS), a subband precoding configuration including a first number of bits and an indication of a common size for each subband of a set of subbands. The UE may select a plurality of precoders from a precoder candidate set based on the first number and the common size. The precoder candidate set may be based on an order of a spatial direction. In certain aspects, the method includes determining, based on a hopping pattern, a first set of frequency resources available for transmitting uplink control information (UCI) within a first portion of a transmission time interval (TTI) and a second set of frequency resources available for transmitting UCI within a second portion of the TTI. The method also includes transmitting the UCI using the determined first set of frequency resources and the second set of frequency resources.

A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) may include: receiving a multicast bandwidth part configuration for multicast communications between a base station and the UE, where the multicast bandwidth part configuration includes a maximum number of multiple-input, multiple-output layers to be used for the multicast communications; establishing a multicast link with the base station for multicast communications; determining to use a reduced number of antennas for multicast reception than the number of antennas used for unicast reception, or determining that the UE is able to decode the multicast communications prior to a remaining portion of the multicast communications; and receiving the multicast communications via the reduced number of antennas, or reducing the radio frequency power prior to completion of a number of repetitions or retransmissions of the multicast communications.

The UE may transmit a beam monitoring request to a base station for an updated monitoring configuration, such as a subset of a set of configured beams or an identified scan angle to be monitored by the UE.

Abstract: A phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) may be transmitted to enable a receiver to correct phase noise in wireless communication. A UE scheduled for one PDSCH with DMRS ports in two or more DMRS CDM groups that are associated with two TCI states may be configured for PT-RS using two PT-RS ports. Therefore, rather than limiting PT-RS to a single port, the PT-RS may be transmitted to the UE using two PT-RS ports. The apparatus transmits a capability indication for more than one PT-RS port for receiving a downlink shared channel based on a first TCI and a second TCI. The apparatus receives a configuration for a maximum number of downlink PT-RS ports from a base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may report power headroom for uplink carrier aggregation communications. The UE may receive a first message that indicates multiple component carriers are configured for communications at the UE. The UE may determine a first transmission power available for uplink carrier aggregation transmissions by the UE across the multiple component carriers during a transmission occasion. The UE may transmit one or more uplink messages associated with a second transmission power via one or more of the component carriers. The UE may transmit a power headroom report that includes a carrier aggregation power headroom parameter. A value of the carrier aggregation power headroom parameter may be based on the first transmission power and the second transmission power associated with uplink carrier aggregation transmissions via at least one of the multiple component carriers during the transmission occasion.
