    摘要: In a first aspect, a carburetor fuel adjusting device that facilitates control of the quantity of fuel that flows from the fuel chamber to an air intake port of a carburetor by making it possible for the user to adjust an adjustment valve within the limits defined by emission control regulations. The carburetor fuel adjusting device has a cap having two appendages, and an engagement area to engage a valve extension of the fuel adjustment valves of a carburetor. The cap is retained by the retainer in either a disengaged position, or an engaged position wherein the engagement area of the cap becomes attached to the valve extensions. In the engaged position, the adjustment valves can be turned in unison with the cap within a range formed by the angle between the appendages which, when rotated, abut against stoppers. In a second aspect, a retaining plate of elastic material having two retainer holes adapted to receive and retain the pair of adjustment valves in a prescribed adjustment position is laid against an outer surface of the carburetor body. The adjustment valves each have a base-end portion and a small diameter portion, the threads of the base-end portion having an external diameter larger than that of the threads of the small diameter portion. The external diameter of the threads of the base-end portion is also larger than the diameter of each of the retainer holes of the retaining plate such that when the adjustment valve is screwed into the screw hole of the carburetor, the base-end portion cuts threads in the retainer holes of the retaining plate to thereby prevent rotation of the adjustment valve.

    摘要: A magnetic multilayer film having magnetoresistance (MR) is prepared by depositing at least two magnetic thin films having different coercive forces while interposing a non-magnetic thin film therebetween. A first magnetic thin film having a lower coercive force has a squareness ratio SQ.sub.1 and a thickness t.sub.1, a second magnetic thin film having a higher coercive force has a squareness ratio SQ.sub.2 and a thickness t.sub.2, and the non-magnetic thin film has a thickness t.sub.3. A first form of the invention requires 4 .ANG..ltoreq.t.sub.2 t.sub.2, t.sub.3 .ltoreq.200 .ANG., 0.7.ltoreq.SQ.sub.1 .ltoreq.1.0, and 0.1.ltoreq.SQ.sub.2 .ltoreq.0.8, thereby achieving a magnetic multilayer film which shows a great MR ratio of several percents under an external magnetic field of several Oe, an excellent rise across zero magnetic field and heat resistance.     摘要: Test methods and components are disclosed for testing the quality of a fabrication process used to form read elements in magnetic heads. A wafer is populated with one or more test components along with magnetic heads. The test components are formed by the same or similar fabrication processes as the read elements, but do not include a conductive MR sensor between the test leads. By measuring the resistance of the test components, the formation of parasitic shunts can be identified in the test components, which may indicate the formation of parasitic shunts in the read elements. Thus, the quality of the fabrication process in forming read elements in magnetic head may be determined.

    摘要: A method of making a magnetoresistive sensor includes defining a track width of a magnetoresistive element stack of the sensor. Further, processes of the method enable depositing of hard magnetic bias material on each side of the stack. These processes may permit both milling of excess depositions of the material outside of regions where the hard magnetic bias material is desired via use of a photoresist and making the material have a planar surface via chemical mechanical polishing, which also removes the material on top of the stack. The method includes removing excess material outside of the photoresist, wherein the excess material includes part of the hard bias layer, while a portion of the hard bias layer remains directly above the MR sensor stack.
