Abstract:
An image display device for displaying an image on the basis of an image signal supplied from an image supply device includes a brightness detecting section that detects a gray level which characterizes brightness of a predetermined pattern image from a pattern image signal when the predetermined pattern image is supplied from the image supply device; a storing section that stores a reference gray level predetermined in the pattern image; a correction parameter setting section that sets a correction parameter for compensating by a difference between the gray level detected by the brightness detecting section and the reference gray level stored in the storing section; and a correcting section that corrects the brightness of the image signal supplied from the image supply device on the basis of the correction parameter.

Abstract:
An image display method of splitting a frame into a plurality of sub frames by multiplying a frame frequency of an incoming image signal by an integer, and dividing an image that is originally for the frame into pieces for display on the sub frames. In the image display method, the luminance component included in the image is given a priority for display on a first sub frame that is at least one of the sub frames, and a color-difference component included in the image is given a priority for display on a second sub frame that is also one of the sub frames but not the first sub frame.
Abstract:
An image recording method for an image recording medium is used in an image display apparatus that changes an image on a light valve and changes quantity of light which is incident on the light valve via a light control element according to an input image signal. The image recording method includes accommodating a range of brightness information which an object to be imaged indicates, in an entire range of brightness information which an image recording apparatus can record in the image recording medium; and recording a light-control control signal for controlling the light control element when an image signal is recorded on the image recording medium. The light control element is generated on the basis of the range of the brightness information uniformly expanded, in synchronization with the image signal.
Abstract:
An array of memory cells is physically divided into a data area and a tag area so that respective parts of the two areas share a word line but can be separately erased en bloc. The data area and tag area sharing one word line constitute a single logical unit. In the logical unit, the tag area stores location information for defective memory cells in the corresponding data area. On the basis of this information, the system avoids the use of the defective memory cells. The defective memory cell information is programmed in a test step performed after chip manufacture and, at the same time, ECCs are generated for the defective memory cell information and written to the tag area. Furthermore, the system is informed of the validity of the data area that shares a word line with a tag area by writing predetermined data to the tag area. Even when the data area is erased en bloc, the tag area is not erased and the defective memory cell information is retained there.
Abstract:
A nonvolatile memory with cluster-erase flash capability. A cluster information sector is included in each of N clusters, the cluster information sector of each cluster being written with the sequence number assigned to the cluster so that no two clusters have the same sequence number. When erasing a given sector, a controller saves its sequence number prior to erasure. Then, when initializing a given erased sector, the controller sets its sequence number to a value greater than the current maximum sequence number. The controller writes user data to sectors other than the cluster information sector for the cluster thus initialized according to their address sequence. Accordingly, an invalid sector can be distinguished from a valid sector without using an overwrite approach.
Abstract:
A hybrid magnetic bubble memory device comprising soft magnetic material propagation tracks and ion-implanted propagation tracks. In the soft magnetic material propagation track region, a layer made of a heat-resistant polymer was provided as an interlaminar insulating layer between a conductor and a pattern of a soft magnetic material. An insulator film made of a heat-resistant polymer was provided on the pattern made of a soft magnetic material. A passivation film made of an inorganic material was provided on the ion-implanted propagation tracks and the insulator film made of a heat-resistant polymer.
Abstract:
A magnetic bubble memory has a plurality of minor loops for storing data represented by magnetic bubble sequences, a write line for transferring write data to couple them to the minor loops and a read line for transferring read data to a bubble detector. The read line is coupled to a plurality of auxiliary loops through replicators and the auxiliary loops are coupled to the minor loops through replicators. The data replicated to the auxiliary loops are read out.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an improved method and apparatus for driving a magnetic bubble device, in which a d-c voltage supply and drive coils are connected to a bridge circuit consisting of four bi-directional switches, and alternating currents with steps (such as currents consisting of triangular waves or trapezoidal waves) are produced in the drive coils by suitably controlling the turn on or off of the bi-directional switches. As a result, the d-c level in the alternating current is not shifted by the variation in width of pulses which control the opening and closing of the bi-directional switches, and the magnetic bubble device is provided with a greatly improved operation margin.
