摘要: A method for producing a silicon-carbide nanostructure, which includes steps of: irradiating a carbon-source supplied to a reaction chamber at a pressure of 1. Pa to 70 Pa with microwaves of 0.5 kW to 3 kW; generating plasma in a space above the silicon substrate at a temperature of 350° C. to 600° C.; and forming a silicon-carbide nanostructure having cone-shaped silicon-carbide aggregates which are scattered on and protruded from a surface of a silicon substrate. The silicon-carbide aggregates have a crystal structure of 2H α-siC.

摘要: Information processing apparatus and method, recording medium, and program are provided. An information processing apparatus includes the following elements. A receiver receives a command requesting for the execution of predetermined processing. A storage unit stores data and first information indicating, among a plurality of stages in a lifecycle of the information processing apparatus, the current stage determined by the stored data and second information indicating an executable command in the current stage, the executable command being determined for each of the plurality of stages. A determining unit determines on the basis of the first information and the second information whether the command received by the receiver is an executable command in the current stage.

摘要: By administering a composition comprising pumpkin seed, safflower, plantain and honeysuckle, subjective symptoms (for example, general malaise and abdominal swelling) of a patient with chronic hepatitis C can be eliminated and, moreover, objective symptoms diagnosed by a medical doctor (for example, liver enlargement and palm erythema) can be relieved or eliminated. From 1 to 3 months after the administration of the composition, a significant decrease in hepatitis C virus RNA level is gradually observed. Therefore, the above composition is useful at least as a composition for treating chronic hepatitis C. In particular, it is advantageous in treating a chronic hepatitis C patient showing a high chronic hepatitis C virus RNA level.

摘要: Instead of using a demultiplexer to divide an optical signal into different wavelengths, this invention uses a plurality of cascade-connected optical attenuator elements whose attenuation factor and the wavelength characteristics thereof can both be varied. Reflective optical attenuator elements are used instead of the conventional transmissive elements, and these are column connected by connecting them in sequence to an optical circulator. In these reflective optical attenuator elements, the attenuation factor is controlled by displacing the mirror of a Fabry-Perot optical resonator along a direction perpendicular to the optical axis so that the reflecting surface moves away from the light spot, and the wavelength characteristics of the attenuation factor are controlled by displacing the mirror in the direction of the optical axis to change the resonant wavelength. In this way, it is possible to implement a variable-gain optical equalizer with a simple configuration and low insertion loss. Furthermore, since the reflective elements are configured so that the light-transmitting part (e.g., optical fiber) is only connected in one direction with respect to these elements, there are fewer physical constraints when attaching the movable plate of a device with a minute range of movement compared with a configuration where light-transmitting parts are connected in at least two directions of the element as is the case with transmissive elements.

摘要: A memory card, which is a storage device connectable to a terminal, includes a buffer memory in which externally-provided data is stored, a flash memory, and a controller which controls reading and writing of data from and to these memories. The controller saves a divided input data in the non-volatile memory in accordance with a result of determination regarding data size information contained in a first divided input data of data externally inputted for a security process and a data management size of the storage device, and the controller reads the saved data to the memory for performing the security process when it receives an n-th divided input data.
