    摘要: A fifth wheel provided on a tractor and adapted to be connected to a king pin fixed to a trailer. The fifth wheel comprises a base plate provided with a slot for receiving the king pin, a stationary lock fixed to the portion of the base plate near the terminal end of the slot and provided with a semi-circular recess, a movable lock pivotally supported by a vertical shaft and including a main body provided with a semi-circular recess and a hook adapted to contact the front end of the king pin when the latter moves into the slot, a spring adapted to hold the movable lock in the open position, a retainer piece movable along a guide on the base plate and adapted to hold the movable lock in the closed position, a bar connected to the retainer piece and provided with a spring for holding the retainer piece to hold the movable lock in the closed position, and projections on the bar for engaging with the base plate for holding the bar at the opened and closed positions.

    摘要: The thickness of paint or other non-metallic coating on a galvanized or other plated metal plate is measured by applying radiation to the plated and painted plate and measuring the intensities of fluorescent X-rays thereupon emitted by the plating layer and base plate respectively. The fluorescent X-rays are detected and the electric signal produced by the detector is amplified and shaped to a corresponding waveform. The output of the amplifier is fed to two single channel analyzers and the output signals of the analyzers are counted for a predetermined time period and fed to a computer which computes the thickness from the measured intensities of the emitted fluorescent X-rays.

    摘要: Provided is a surface-modified metal oxide powder obtained by treating a surface of a metal oxide powder, wherein a ratio (A/B) of an initial triboelectrostatic charge amount (A) at a time of one minute after dispersion of the surface-modified metal oxide powder into a ferrite carrier to a triboelectrostatic charge amount (B) after a lapse of 30 additional minutes is from 1.0 to 2.0, and the triboelectrostatic charge amount (B) is from −300 to +300 μC/g. The surface-modified metal oxide powder has a weaker charging property and a better stability over time of a triboelectrostatic charge amount than a conventional one; and thus, when this powder is used as an external additive, various properties including flowability and electrical charging can be stabilized, and in addition, problems such as fogging and image deterioration can be drastically remedied without significantly deteriorating characteristics as a developer and the like.

    摘要: It is an object to provide an epitaxial silicon wafer that is provided with an excellent gettering ability in which a polysilicon layer is formed on the rear face side of a silicon crystal substrate into which phosphorus (P) and germanium (Ge) have been doped. A silicon epitaxial layer is grown by a CVD method on the surface of a silicon crystal substrate into which phosphorus and germanium have been doped at a high concentration. After that, a PBS forming step for growing a polysilicon layer is executed on the rear face side of a silicon crystal substrate. By the above steps, the number of LPDs (caused by an SF) that occur on the surface of the epitaxial silicon wafer due to the SF can be greatly reduced.
