    摘要: A programmable dicing saw is operable with movement of its spindle and work surface for aligning a dicing blade juxtaposed between flanges on the spindle and dicing a substrate along a predetermined blade path. By locating the center of the substrate, an efficient movement of the blade relative to the substrate center rather than the work surface center saves time. Locating the center of the blade includes aligning opposing substrate edges and edge location data entry into a processor for calculation of the substrate center and control based on the substrate center. In addition, prior to cutting along the edges of the substrate, the dicing blade is first aligned for travel parallel to and proximate the edge of the substrate, and an alignment offset is provided to the programmable dicing saw for laterally moving the blade toward the center of the substrate prior to making a cut and avoiding damage to the blade and substrate that typically results when the blade slides along the substrate edge rather than cutting into the substrate. In addition, by knowing the substrate center location, an arcuate cut can be accurately madeinto the substrate by making multiple straight cuts with a rotation of the substrate about its center between each cut. A flange clearance is monitored by measuring the blade exposure after a preselected number of cuts during the substrate dicing, and a minimum flange clearance permitted before blade movement toward the substrate is automatically stopped.

    摘要: A thin strip-shaped grindstone 12 is held flat under tension and moved backwards and forwards in the longitudinal direction, while the grindstone is moved in a direction perpendicular to a cylindrical ingot 1 and cuts the ingot. A metal-bonded grindstone is used as the strip-shaped grindstone 12, at least one pair of electrodes 23 are disposed adjacent to both surfaces of the metal-bonded grindstone one on each side of the ingot. The metal-bonded grindstone is made the positive electrode and DC voltage pulses are applied between the grindstone and the electrodes, and at the same time, a conducting processing fluid 25 is fed to the gaps between the metal-bonded grindstone and the electrodes, and both surfaces of the metal-bonded grindstone are dressed electrolytically on both sides while the cylindrical ingot is being cut by the metal-bonded grindstone. A large diameter, hard, refractory ingot can be efficiently cut with a small amount of cutting waste, warping and uneven thickness of the finished surface are reduced, roughness of the cut surface is small, little damage is given to the crystal during processing, running costs are low and there is a reduction in manpower requirements.

    摘要: The invention is directed to an arrangement for actuating a braking device for bringing a motor-driven work tool of a work apparatus to standstill. The braking device is actuated by a brake lever and the brake lever is connected to a pivotably journalled throttle lever via a first actuator. The throttle lever controls the carburetor of the engine driving the work apparatus via a second actuator. In order to bring the work tool rapidly to standstill in idle, the second actuator is attached to a drag lever which is pivotable relative to the throttle lever. After passing through an idle movement path, the throtle lever takes the drag lever along via a follower in a pivot direction.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for cutting a tube, preferably provided with a hard surface, into pieces which involves first subjecting the coated tube to the grinding action of a disk to remove a narrow band of coating and to effect a shallow groove in the tube prior to contacting the bottom of the groove with a cutting knife to slice the tube into pieces having ends which are essentially planar and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pieces. The knife and grinding disc may be mounted on reciprocally movable carriages. The movable carriage supporting the grinding disc is preferably mounted on an adjustment rod so as to permit precise spacing relative to the exterior surface of the tube. The grinding disc is controlled to prevent it from contacting a mandrel supporting the tube.

    摘要: Cylindrical water tanks, such as used for water softeners, inherently corrode at the bottom and herein is taught that the tanks are repaired by removing the bottom dish with the use of a novel tool that moves around the tank and bears thereagainst with a substantially uniform force thereby readily following the tank's contour, by sandblasting the interior for cleaning, by installing a new bottom dish to the cylindrical body with the use of a novel tool that automatically stops further penetration of the dish into the tank when a predetermined overall height of the tank is obtained, by welding the bottom dish to the body, by coating the interior with a non-corrosive plastic with the use of a novel spray gun apparatus that radially sprays the liquid plastic onto the inner walls of the tank as the spray nozzle moves axially therein and then the spray nozzle is adjusted to cause the spray to form an upward diverging cone to coat the underside of the top cover, and finally by allowing the plastic to harden.

    摘要: An apparatus for cutting off cast parts from a cylindrical runner of a casting body comprises a slidable mount supported on a bed, holding means provided on the slidable mount for supporting and indexing the casting body and a cutting grinder supported up and down movably on the bed. During a forward movement of the slidable mount in the axial direction of the casting body, cast parts arranged in an axial row are cut off successively. After this cutting, the casting body is indexed to the next cutting position and by a rearward movement of the slidable mount cast parts arranged in the next axial row are cut off. Thus cast parts on the outer periphery of the cylindrical runner of the casting body which usually is manufactured by precision casting may be cut off from the runner in the most simple and efficient way.
