    摘要: Light emitted from a plurality of LED light sources can be introduced into a light guide and inwardly reflected (totally reflected) at a first reflective surface formed on the light guide to form a substantially collimated light. The substantially collimated light can then be inwardly reflected (totally reflected) at a second reflective surface and a third reflective surface. The light can then be led out of the light guide and emitted in a direction of illumination of the lamp. An increased amount of light provides a bright lamp. An arrangement of LEDs emitting different colored lights enables the different colored lights to be emitted at the same time or with time delays.

    摘要: A lamp assembly (10) that comprises a reflector (12) for directing light in a given direction. An aperture (14) is formed in the reflector (12), substantially in the base thereof, and a thermally conductive post (16) is fitted in the aperture (14) and has a first surface (18) within the reflector and a second surface (20) outside of the reflector. The post (16) is preferably a metal such as copper. A single, side emitting, LED light source (22) is fixed to the first surface (18), preferably via an electrically insulating but thermally conductive member (23). A heat sink (24) is fixed to the second surface (20) and preferably is an inherent part thereof to insure good heat conductivity between the post (16) and the heat sink (24). Circuitry (26), which can be mounted on a printed circuit board, is associated with the LED source (22) for supplying power thereto. Suitable electrical connections, not shown, can be supplied from the circuitry (26) to the LED light source (22) via insulated wires running up the side of the post (16) or threaded through longitudinal apertures formed in the post (16). Alternatively, an electrically insulating material supplied with conductive traces can cover the post (16). The LED light source can include a cap having a secondary reflector thereon or the light source (22) can be covered by a dome-shaped, transparent element having sidewalls and a closed top having at least one metallized surface and including an optic.

    摘要: A translucent member is arranged so as to cause light originating from an LED light source oriented toward the front of a lamp to enter the translucent member. Outgoing LED light that has entered the translucent member is reflected rearward by a front surface, and then the light is reflected forward by a rear surface, to thereby exit forward of the lamp from the translucent member. At that time, an area on the front surface located in the vicinity of an optical axis Ax is formed as a normal reflection section subjected to reflection surface treatment. The other area of the front surface is formed as an internal reflection section which causes the outgoing LED light to undergo internal reflection. A plurality of reflection elements are formed on the rear surface of the translucent member so as to cause the outgoing LED light reflected from the front surface to enter the internal reflection section at an incidence angle which is smaller than or equal to a critical angle.
