Abstract: The present disclosure provides a high-pressure helium shale porosity testing device and method. The device comprises a reference cylinder, a pressure cylinder, a sample cylinder, a differential pressure sensor, a pressure gauge, an venting and vacuumizing system, a temperature control system and a tubing and valve system, wherein the reference cylinder is respectively connected with a helium source, the pressure cylinder and the sample cylinder through the tubing and valve system, the differential pressure sensor is configured to measure changes of pressure difference between the sample cylinder and the pressure cylinder, the pressure gauge is configured to measure pressure at the pressure cylinder, the sample cylinder is further connected with the venting and vacuumizing system through the tubing and valve system, and the temperature control system is used for controlling the temperature of the whole device.

The machine comprises a test chamber for receiving a diesel particulate filter and a fan for drawing air from outside the chamber through the filter. An air flow measuring device measures air flow through the filter and compares a measured air flow with a predetermined air flow threshold value to determine whether the diesel particulate filter needs further cleaning.

Abstract: A method for characterizing properties of a sample that employs a test apparatus including an isolated sample cell and pressure sensor where the isolated sample cell is loaded with the sample and gaseous test fluid to perform a number of different tests to derive properties of the sample. The tests can be performed over different parameters, such as different applied pressures of the test fluid to derive parameters related to apparent gas permeability of the sample as a function of applied pressure, different gaseous test fluids to characterize dependence of permeability of the sample on mean free molecular path or pressure, with both adsorptive and non-adsorptive test gases to characterize at least one property related to adsorptive interaction between the adsorptive test gas and the sample, and with samples of varying saturation levels to derive a measure of at least one property of the subsamples at corresponding saturation levels.

Abstract: A fluidic device that can emulate a fracture is provided and includes a body with a first region that can emulate a propped fracture and a second region that can emulate an earth formation material. A test fluid flows into the device at a test pressure and temperature, and substantially fills the first and second regions. A portion of the test fluid flows back out of the device when the pressure is reduced. A method of emulating fluid flow through a fracture is provided, the method including a fluidic device that includes a body, a first region that emulates the fracture, and a second region that emulates an earth formation material. Flowing a test fluid at a test pressure and temperature into the first region, and reducing a pressure of the test fluid, thereby allowing some of the test fluid to flow from the device.

Abstract: Gypsum panels, sheathing systems, and methods of making and using the same are provided. A gypsum panel includes a gypsum core associated with a first fiberglass mat having a continuous barrier coating, the coating penetrating a portion of the first fiberglass mat opposite the gypsum core, wherein gypsum penetrates a remaining fibrous portion of the first fiberglass mat such that voids in the first fiberglass mat are substantially eliminated. A building sheathing system includes at least two gypsum panels and a seaming component to provide a seam at an interface between the gypsum panels.

Abstract: A system for building a gas processing apparatus includes a compressed gas source, a pressure modulator in communication with the gas source, and a chamber configured to receive a gas permeable material. The chamber is further configured with a first chamber area on one side of the material and with a second chamber area on a second side of the material. A sensor is configured to measure over time a pressure differential between the first and second chamber areas. A memory stores performance characteristic data for a plurality of gas processing apparatus. A processor converts the pressure differential to a material characteristic of the gas permeable material, and compares the material characteristic to at least one selected performance characteristic of the gas processing apparatus.
