Abstract:
An image processing device includes a judgement section and a generation section. A latent image, which would be retained or eliminated by photocopying, is to be superposed with machine-readable code images, which are encoded supplementary information, to generate a superposed image. The judgement section judges overlapping of the latent image with the machine-readable code images. The generation section, on the basis of judgement results from the judgement section, determines an arrangement of the machine-readable code images and generates the superposed image.
Abstract:
An MFP, being an image forming apparatus, when confirming that a print job is the last one of a plurality of sequentially requested print jobs issued from a client terminal (Step S23), judges whether a notification management table stores any print job having the same EMAILTO name as an EMAILTO name that is a destination of notification regarding the last print job (Step S25). When the judgment of Step S25 results in the affirmative, e-mail including completion of these print jobs destined for the EMAILTO name is created and transmitted to the client terminal.
Abstract:
An image commercial transactions system and method that are able to implement sales to the purpose of the seller. An e-commerce system for selling a picture and a handling condition specific to the picture, both being recorded on a predetermined recording medium in a predetermined format. The picture to be sold and the handling condition are accepted by an acceptor in a digital format. When a transaction is established, an accounting company carries out an accounting electronically for a purchaser of the picture and the e-commerce condition, thereby both of the picture to be sold and the handling condition are sold as digital data so that the purchased picture is used in a handling manner as intended by the seller. Consequently, the selling of the picture can be made so as to satisfy the intention of the seller.
Abstract:
The invention provides a digital picture frame that allows a user to edit a displayed picture using simple and intuitive controls. Modifications to an image may be stored by the digital picture frame so that the digital picture frame may later display the edited or modified version of the picture rather than the original version. A user may edit a picture using mechanical controls (e.g., knobs, switches, slider-bars, wheels), sensors (e.g., a position sensor, a tilt sensor, a microphone, a light sensor), a voice recognition module, and/or a touch screen. A digital picture frame may identify a user and based on the user's identity (e.g., the user's preferences or permissions), may display pictures to the user. Further, different users may modify a picture in different ways, so that two different users may view two different versions of the same picture.

Abstract:
IFAX reads an original using a scanner in accordance with a transmitting instruction by an operator. Next, IFAX generates a menu screen in an HTML, image data filed by unit of page is registered to a WWW server together with a generated HTML document. IFAX decides the WWW server based on a recipient's mail address. Next, IFAX sends notification of URL of a WWW server to a recipient to which image data should be transmitted. The recipient accesses to the WWW server based on URL, fetches image data by unit of page, and instructs printing selectively.
Abstract:
An Internet facsimile apparatus as a sender makes inquiry about capability, which a destination Internet facsimile apparatus possesses, to a local server in a local network. When the local server has no capability information of the destination stored, the sender makes inquiry to a DNS server higher than the local server and obtains capability information of the destination from the DNS server. Then, the sender registers the obtained capability information of the destination to a memory, which the local server or the sender has. This realizes that the sender can surely obtain capability information of the destination. Also, this makes it possible to automatically register capability information of the destination to the memory of the local server or the sender.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a communication terminal device and a communication method which access a folder of a terminal connected to a network. When a selection is made by an operation key, in accordance with a path associated with the selected operation key, image data is written into the folder or data is fetched from the folder.
Abstract:
A RARP processing section of a network scanner obtains a MAC address corresponding to a user name from a MAC address table, and broadcasts a RARP request by use of this MAC address. While, a PC sends a pair of a self-IP address and a mail address to a RARP processing section in response to the RARP request. After obtaining an IP address of this PC, a scanner scans an original, and generates e-mail to which the image is appended. Next, an SMTP transmitting section directly transmits the generated e-mail to the PC. At this time, the SMTP transmitting section uses the IP address of PC obtained by the RARP processing section. In the network to which HDCP is introduced, the network scanner automatically obtains the IP address of PC, and directly transmits image data to the PC.
Abstract:
An image file is managed by a database of a system of a service provider (center server) on a network. The center server obtains various kinds of information (such as an image ID to specify the image to be transmitted and a destination address) input to the system by a service user who has viewed the disclosed image. Based on this information, the center server reads the specified image file from the database, converts the image file into an attachment document format, generates an image-attached electronic mail message, and transmits the electronic mail message to the specified address.
