Abstract:
An image viewing system includes a display, a memory, an image viewing unit, a resize unit and a processor. The memory is configured for storing the images. Each image acquires additional metadata about the corresponding image. A thumbnail of the corresponding image is built in the metadata. The image viewing unit includes a retrieving module and an exhibiting module. The retrieving module is configured for retrieving the thumbnails of the images. The exhibiting module is configured for exhibiting the thumbnails of the images through the display for image viewing. The processor is configured for controlling the image viewing unit and the resize unit.
Abstract:
An image processing device includes an accumulating unit an information deleting unit and an information updating unit. The accumulating unit accumulates image information of a plurality of pages as a multipage file, wherein the multipage file includes identification information associated with the image information of each of the pages. The information deleting unit deletes image information of any page of the multipage file. The information updating unit updates, when image information of one or more of the pages of the multipage file has been deleted by the information deleting unit, identification information corresponding to the image information of the deleted page.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing a network-based photosharing service is disclosed. The photosharing service includes a central photosharing site having a server, and a plurality of peer nodes each containing digital images. The method and system include associating metadata with each image that is to be shared. The images are shared by uploading the metadata associated with each image from the peer nodes to the peer server, while maintaining storage of the images on the respective peer nodes. In response to the peer server receiving search criteria based on the metadata submitted from a first one of the peer nodes, the peer server returns a list of image locators for images matching the search criteria to the first peer node. The method and system further include dynamically generating on the first peer node an image album that contains at least a portion of the matching images.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for indicating the presence of ancillary data in a header of a JPEG file. The system comprises a JPEG file having an EXIF header and associated image data, and at least one other file of digital data, and a computer. The computer is programmed to scan the JPEG image file for a special indicator in the application marker section of the EXIF header. If the marker is present, the value of marker indicates what type of ancillary digital data is present in the header. For instance, if the marker contains the string EKC-JPEG, then the ancillary data is known to be another JPEG file. Other types of data can be indicated as appropriate. The presence of the ancillary data is then used for the appropriate type of presentation to the user. A reveal icon is then used in presenting the data to indicate whether the ancillary data is another JPEG file, video, audio, sound, document, etc. The user would be presented with the data as appropriate.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a technique for allowing proper classification information to be provided to an edited image. When it is determined that the editing is cropping, a system controller cuts a decompressed image down to a desired size using an image processor and performs face detection on a crop image. The system controller generates a header for image data of an edited image. When the setting of automatically providing classification information is “ON”, classification information is automatically provided based on the detected face information.
Abstract:
There is provided a method of recording an image by causing a subject to truly coincide with data relating to the subject. In a finished work recording method using image data by obtaining a product to be recorded and work contents to the product to be recorded as a work recording image, RFID tags 60 (RFID tags 60a, 60b) in each of which inherent tag data is recorded are attached to the product to be recorded and to the work recording worker. Thereafter, whether the tag data are true to the image data of a subject to be worked is determined by comparing a time difference between the time at which the tag data recorded in the RFID tag 60a is read and the time at which the image data of the product to be recorded is obtained with a preset specified time. When it is determined that the tag data are truly associated with the image data, the image data associated with the tag data is recorded as a finished work. In contrast, it is determined that the tag data are falsely associated with the image data, the image data and the tag data are discarded.
Abstract:
A slide viewer capable of simultaneous display of more than one representation of an area of interest of a slide is provided. The slide viewer includes a database containing at least two data files representing different representations for a same area of interest on one or multiple correlated slides or at least two different digital presentations of the same representation. The representations are views of different illumination and/or of different contrast. Associated with the database are a processor and a display. The processor retrieves data files representing different representations of the same of area of interest and displays them on the display. A user is allowed to simultaneously view representations of the same area of interest, where the representations are of views different from each other by either illumination and/or contrast or by the digital information content presented, and/or by the information acquired from multiple correlated slides.
Abstract:
A data processing device is disclosed that is able to limit functions of a connected apparatus without providing additional components in the apparatus and without dependence on types of the apparatus. The data processing device includes a function limiting file storage unit to store a function limiting file; a function list file storage unit to store function list files dependent upon the apparatus type and function list files independent of the apparatus type, the function list files including descriptions of functions available in the apparatus; a function list file selection unit to select one of the function list files corresponding to the apparatus type; and a display item generation unit to generate a setting screen image for setting operations of the apparatus based on the selected function list file and the function limiting file stored in the function limiting file storage unit.
Abstract:
A camera includes an image sensing unit which is arranged to be pivotal with respect to a main body unit and is used to sense an object image, an azimuth sensor which is arranged in the main body unit and is used to detect the azimuth of the facing direction of the main body unit, a pivot angle detector which detects the pivot angle of the image sensing unit with respect to the main body unit, a control unit which corrects the azimuth of the facing direction of the main body unit detected by the azimuth sensor on the basis of the pivot angle detected by the pivot angle detector, and a display unit which superimposes the correction result on a through image.
Abstract:
An information processing method includes: obtaining, from image data, data indicating a characteristic of an image indicated by the image data; obtaining, from supplemental data appended to the image data, data other than data relating to a scene; and identifying a scene of the image with data indicating the characteristic of the image and the data other than data relating to the scene as characteristic amounts.
