    摘要: Efficient plunge cutting work in which the tool body moves forward and backward in the axial direction to cut the wall face of a workpiece at high feed-speed, is possible even in the cutting process with backward motions. The tool body 1 has a cylindrical shape with an axis O as its center axis, and provides the insert pocket 3 in the outer periphery close to the tip. The cutting insert 10 is detachably attached in the insert pocket 3. Then, by rotating the tool body 1 and by feeding it along the axis O, the cutting insert 10 cuts the wall face of a workpiece.Furthermore, the insert pocket includes a bottom face which faces the tool rotational direction and, wall faces 3B, 3C and 3D which extend from the bottom face toward the tool rotational direction. Of which, the wall face 3B is located in the inner circumference close to the tip, faces the outer peripheral side, and is also an incline wall face which inclines radially outward along the axis O to the tip, in a view from a position opposite the bottom face.

    摘要: A universal cutter structure includes a double-headed screw made of tungsten steel or steel. The double-headed screw has outer threads at front and rear sections thereof and a positioning block at a middle section thereof. The front and rear sections of the double-headed screw are screwed to an upper threaded trough of a cutter rod and a lower threaded trough of a cutter head, respectively. The positioning block engages with the cutter rod and the cutter head directly or indirectly such that the parts are tightened to be a one-piece cutter. When the double-headed screw is removed, the cutter rod is able to be coupled with a screw and a positioning block provided at a distal end of the cutter head. The present invention provides a better steadiness for processing and is convenient for replacement.

The securing mechanism comprises a securing pin received within the seat bore and having a body with an outer surface extending between a proximal end and a distal end of the body and defining a pin axis therealong. The securing mechanism further comprises a displacement arrangement adapted for axially displacing the securing pin along the bore axis of the seat bore between at least a first, mounting position in which the distal end protrudes from within the seat bore through the bottom surface into the seat to a first extent so as to allow the cutting insert to be placed within the seat, having its bottom face aligned against the bottom surface, and a second, securing position in which the distal end protrudes from within the seat bore through the bottom surface into the seat to a second extent, greater than the first extent, so as to engage the inner surface of the insert bore, thereby securing the insert in place.
