    摘要: A transport path for transporting a recording paper or a cleaning sheet shifts between a recording position and a cleaning position. In the recording position, heating elements press against the recording paper, while a substrate does not come in contact with the recording paper. In the cleaning position, the cleaning sheet comes in contact with a heating element array and a part of the substrate at the downstream side of the heating element array. The cleaning sheet rubs stains off the heating element array and the downstream area when transported.

    摘要: A cleaning roller and a platen roller are provided in a first rotating plate which rotates around a main shaft. The cleaning roller and the platen roller are disposed at an equal distance from the main shaft. In printing, the platen roller is positioned at a facing position to face the thermal head. In cleaning the thermal head, the rotating plate rotates to retract the platen roller from the facing position, and then the cleaning roller is positioned at the facing position in place of the platen roller. The foreign matters on the thermal head are scraped off by rotating the cleaning roller in a state that the cleaning roller is contacted with the thermal head.

The card-flipping device comprises a card-carrier unit for transporting the card in a vertical direction, a motor drive means for moving the unit in the vertical direction, and an actuator assembly including a rotatable cam arm for flipping the card over. The card-flipping device is particularly suitable for use in thermal dye printers that print images on card substrates such as driver's licenses, employee badges, student cards, and the like. After one surface of the card has been printed, the card is conveyed to the card-flipping device, where the card is flipped over so that the reverse, unprinted side of the card can be printed thereon.

    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to enable no-margin printing to be achieved without the need to cut off margins, while avoiding a discontinuous output result in which the areas between adjacent print images are missing even if poster printing is carried out. Print data outputted by an input section is stored in an input buffer. One page of print data from the input buffer is inputted to the dividing section. The dividing section divides the one page of print data in accordance with division numbers J and K indicated by an instructing section. The dividing section then outputs the divided print data to a printing section as a plurality of print images. The plurality of print images outputted to the printing section are printed on the respective sheets.
