Abstract:
An airbag module (400) has a housing (402), an airbag (404), an inflator (406) and a deflector mechanism (420) which provides a barrier or guide and a reaction hood 401 or surface to modify the trajectory of the airbag on inflation to inflate at a lower trajectory. The deflector mechanism (420) has a tensioning member (430).
Abstract:
A passenger protection device in which an airbag capable of expanding by receiving a predetermined action signal is disposed on the position of a shoulder belt, and a webbing is wound by means of one winding device, wherein the airbag is folded along a gate-shape guide-form slide guide having high-rigidity parts arranged to have a predetermined distance from one another along one side surface of a low-rigidity part extending in the lengthwise direction of the airbag can smoothly slide along the webbing via the slide guide when the webbing is being pulled out. Moreover, it is possible to fit the folded airbag between the chest and shoulder of a passenger because the slide guide is flexible.
Abstract:
An air bag (20) for use in a vehicle (200) having a border region (22) having a top (24) situated about at least one inflatable region (30, 30a, 30b); the top of the border region configured to be secured directly or indirectly to a portion of the vehicle or component of the vehicle; wherein the border region includes at least one slit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an actuator assembly for an airbag module in a vehicle safety system comprising an actuator (10) and a tensioning means (20), wherein the actuator (10) includes a release member (12) which in the idle state of the actuator is connected to a retaining member (11) and is separable from the retaining member (11) by actuating a pyrotechnical ignition unit of the actuator (10) along a predetermined breaking point (13) so as to release a loop (23) of a tensioning means (20). The invention excels by the fact that the loop (23) is formed between two tensioning means portions (21, 22) which are interconnected directly at the predetermined breaking point (13) by a connecting means (30) such that the loop (23) is tensioned around the predetermined breaking point (13) in a self-fixing manner. Furthermore the invention relates to an airbag module, a vehicle safety system and a manufacturing method.
Abstract:
An airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag arrangement comprises an airbag package which includes an airbag which can be inflated to protect a vehicle occupant as well as a sleeve in which the airbag is vacuum-packaged. The sleeve comprises a first sleeve part and a second sleeve part. The first sleeve part and the second sleeve part each include at least one flange portion. The two flange portions are connected with each other and initially protrude from the remaining airbag package, after they have been connected with each other. The two flange portions are at least partly folded such that they extend along an outer surface of the remaining airbag package.
Abstract:
An airbag module has a case-like housing and an open side covered by a protective covering. The protective covering (17), having a pre-set tear line, is fastened at its one end (18) in the interior of the housing (10). With its other, free end (19), the protective covering overlaps the open side (13) of the housing (10) and is secured on a flange (14) outwardly protruding from the housing wall (12) and mounted on the housing (10). The flange (14) has at least one opening (20), immediately adjoining the transition between housing wall (12) and flange (14), for guiding a tongue (22) formed on the free end (19) of the protective covering (17). A holding nose (21) projecting from the housing wall (12) into the opening (20) can be brought into engagement into a holding recess (23) formed in the tongue (22) of the protective covering (17).
Abstract:
The airbag assembly features an airbag cushion, a deployment flap, an extension flap attached to the deployment flap, and a lateral flap. The deployment flap is configured to protect the airbag cushion as it deploys from the module housing. The extension flap is configured to position the airbag cushion during deployment. The lateral flap is configured to allow for proper airbag deployment.
Abstract:
An airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag arrangement comprising an airbag folded into an airbag package, a cover that may be evacuated and encloses the airbag package, a gas generator for inflating the airbag, a receptacle formed by a section of the cover enclosing the airbag package and in which at least one section of the gas generator is housed. The airbag comprising an opening, which forms an inlet to an inflatable area of the airbag and in which the receptacle is arranged at least sectionally or into which the receptacle projects. The gas generator is formed as a tubular gas generator. The opening has a hollow cylindrical area in which the receptacle is arranged, or the opening is formed as a hole in an airbag layer which forms a chamber of the airbag.
Abstract:
An gas bag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The gas bag module comprising an inflatable gas bag, an envelope inside of which the gas bag is vacuum packed and which comprises a first and a second material. The first material has a lower gas permeability than the second material and the second material has a higher tear strength than the first material.
Abstract:
