    Abstract: A bicycle operating device comprises a base member including a first end to be mounted to a bicycle handlebar and a second end opposite to the first end. A hydraulic unit is operatively coupled to an operating member to operate a bicycle component in response to an operation of the operating member. An electrical switch is to be activated by an input operation from a user. A wireless communicator is electrically connected to the electrical switch to wirelessly transmit a signal to an additional component in response to the input operation. A power supply is electrically connected to the wireless communicator to supply electrical power to the wireless communicator. At least part of the hydraulic unit is disposed closer to the free end of the operating member than at least one of the wireless communicator and the power supply when viewed from the first direction.

    Abstract: An integrated drive for bicycle handlebars comprising a grip body having a shape and size suitable for being gripped by the cyclist in a holding condition while riding, a brake lever carried by the grip body, a hydraulic system mounted inside the grip body and mechanically actuated by the brake lever to send pressurised fluid into a braking system, and a set of gearshift drives, on said grip body. Such a drive, which encloses in the same grip body not only all that is needed to drive the hydraulic brake, but also drives for the gearshift and allows the overall bulk to be significantly reduced.

    Abstract: A bicycle controller includes an electronic control unit that controls a transmission unit and a motor in accordance with a shift request that changes the transmission ratio. If the transmission ratio is changed in multiple steps in accordance with the shift request, then the electronic control unit selectively executes one of first and second shifting operations. In the first shifting operation, the output of the motor is limited and the transmission unit is operated to reach a requested transmission ratio that corresponds to the shift request. In the second shifting operation, the output of the motor is limited and the transmission unit is operated to reach an intermediate transmission ratio of the requested transmission ratio, and after the electronic control unit temporarily reduces the limitation on the output of the motor, the electronic control unit again limits the output of the motor and operates the transmission unit.
