    摘要: An automatic oil additive injector is disposed over the drain opening in a bottom wall of an engine oil pan and extends into the oil pan. A side port is provided in a housing of the injector for allowing oil to drain therethrough when the oil drain plug is removed. Primary and secondary valve assemblies and a pump operator provided in the housing are activated upon removal of the drain plug to allow a chamber therebetween to fill with a predefined volume of additive, preferably silicone fluid, from a reservoir of the injector and which, upon engagement of the drain plug, dispense the fluid into the oil pan at each oil change to decrease aeration of the oil. In a second embodiment, the additive injector and reservoir are incorporated in the lubricating oil filter header.

    摘要: Lubricant filter for internal combustion engines, particularly for motor vehicles, of the screwed-on type, both for full flow and bypass filtering, the latter being obtained by superimposed filter cartridges with separation of the flow of filtered lubricant. The filter comprises an incorporated reservoir for reserve additives to be admitted to the lubricant at an appropriate time to reintegrate the original additives which are degraded or exhausted after a certain period of operation. The reservoir communicates with the rest of the filter through a discharge duct, normally closed by an on-off piston valve actuatable by means of an outer control knob, and through a feed hole normally closed by a check valve. When the on-off valve is opened, with the engine idling, the check valve is opened, too, and the reservoir of the additives is brought into communication with the rest of the filter, thus causing mixing of the additives with the lubricant which is fed directly to the oil sump.

    摘要: An oil filter is disclosed as having a filter enclosure provided with oil inlet and outlet ports adapted for communication with the oil circulating system of an associated oil lubricated engine. Disposed within the enclosure is a filter element fabricated of any suitable filtering media. In addition to the filter element, a body of an oil soluble, relatively solid polymer having oil additives compounded therein is disposed within the enclosure. The polymer body is located within the enclosure so as to be in an area where minimum oil flow occurs, i.e. in a relatively non-turbulent oil flow area, which results in the polymer dissolving at a relatively uniform or linear rate so as to prevent undesirable concentrations of the additives during the effective service life of the filter. If desired, suitable baffle means may be interposed between the area of primary oil flow within the filter and the oil soluble polymer, whereby to provide for the controlled contact of the flow of turbulent oil within the filter with the polymer body and thereby assure the desired linear or uniform rate of polymer dissolution.

    摘要: An aqueous cutting or grinding fluid is fed to at least one machine tool having at least one cutting tool, and the used fluid is collected. Solids are removed from the used fluid to produce a supply of clarified fluid. A pH of 8 to 9.5 is maintained in the clarified fluid by addition of a base. Deionized water is supplied to the system to replace water losses, and a watermiscible lubricant is supplied to maintain a lubricant concentration in the system from 1 to 25 percent. Tramp oil is removed from the clarified fluid by passing a portion of the clarified fluid through a centrifuge, to maintain a tramp oil content of not more than 2 percent in the clarified fluid, and the resulting clarified fluid is reused.

    摘要: An oil blending system for a marine diesel two-stroke engine and/or generator comprises a blender having at least one inlet for receiving a lubrication oil and at least one other component and at least one outlet for outputting a mixed lubrication oil composition to the engine or generator. A blender controller is configured to receive parameter data on the current lubrication oil status used in the engine or generator and receive parameter data on the current engine and/or generator status. The blender controller is also configured to automatically determine whether the currently used lubrication oil is within a predetermined parameter range based on the current engine and/or generator status. If the current lubrication oil is outside a predetermined parameter threshold, the blender controller is configured to determine a new lubrication oil composition for the engine or generator.
