Abstract: A method of generating a quantitative characterization of injury presence and status of spinal cord tissue using an adaptive CNN system for use in diagnostic assessment, surgical planning, and therapeutic strategy comprises preprocessing for artifact correction of diffusion based, spinal cord MRI data, training an adaptive CNN system with healthy and abnormal (injured/pathologic) spinal cord images obtained by imaging a population of healthy, typically developed spinal cord subjects and subjects with spinal cord injury, evaluating a novel, diffusion-based MRI image for injury biomarkers using the adaptive CNN system, generating a three-dimensional predictive axonal damage map for quantitative characterization and visualization of the novel, diffusion-based MRI image, and transmitting the sets of healthy and injured spinal cord images back to a central database for continued improvement of the adaptive CNN system training. A system for defining a predictive spinal axonal damage map is also described.

Abstract: Some embodiments of this application disclose an image processing method, including: acquiring an image-to-be-processed, the image-to-be-processed including a target part of an object, the morphology of the target part being a first morphology, and the first morphology being not matched with an expected morphology; acquiring description information corresponding to the first morphology, and acquiring contour information of the target part in the first morphology; and correcting the morphology of the target part based on the description information and the contour information so as to correct the morphology of the target part from the first morphology to a second morphology, the second morphology being matched with the expected morphology. By adopting some embodiments of the disclosure, manpower resources can be saved, and the morphology correction efficiency is improved.

Abstract: A system and method for identifying a box to be picked up by a robot from a stack of boxes. The method includes obtaining a 2D red-green-blue (RGB) color image of the boxes and a 2D depth map image of the boxes using a 3D camera. The method employs an image segmentation process that uses a simplified mask R-CNN executable by a central processing unit (CPU) to predict which pixels in the RGB image are associated with each box, where the pixels associated with each box are assigned a unique label that combine to define a mask for the box. The method then identifies a location for picking up the box using the segmentation image.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media that upsample and refine segmentation masks. Indeed, in one or more implementations, a segmentation mask refinement and upsampling system upsamples a preliminary segmentation mask utilizing a patch-based refinement process to generate a patch-based refined segmentation mask. The segmentation mask refinement and upsampling system then fuses the patch-based refined segmentation mask with an upsampled version of the preliminary segmentation mask. By fusing the patch-based refined segmentation mask with the upsampled preliminary segmentation mask, the segmentation mask refinement and upsampling system maintains a global perspective and helps avoid artifacts due to the local patch-based refinement process.

Abstract: A method for using an assembled three-dimensional image to construct a three-dimensional model for determining a path through a lumen network to a target. The three-dimensional model is automatically registered to an actual location of a probe by tracking and recording the positions of the probe and continually adjusting the registration between the model and a display of the probe position. The registration algorithm becomes dynamic (elastic) as the probe approaches smaller lumens in the periphery of the network where movement has a bigger impact on the registration between the model and the probe display.

The method includes extracting vector imagery from the source file, creating a planar representation of the vector imagery as a plurality of lines, filtering the plurality of lines to create simplified line art, morphologically dilating the simplified line art to generate a polygonal approximation, calculating geometric difference between the source file canvas bounds and the polygonal approximation to identify contracted polygons, morphologically dilating the contracted polygons to create visual polygons, and filtering the visual polygons according to one or more geometric parameters to identify salient polygons.
