摘要: A system and method for monitoring a track and/or rail employs one or more imagers mounted to a railcar and directed to image the track and/or rails wherein the images are geo-tagged with location data. Geo-tagged images are processed to determine at least track gauge and/or at least rail fastener integrity. The system and method may also determine other track and/or rail integrity issues including, e.g., rail fastener integrity, rail profile, rail alignment, center point dip, cross level, rail cant, wheel wear, wheel integrity, rail wear, rail defects, and/or rail temperature. The system and method may also determine when inspection and/or maintenance of the track is indicated, and provide selected records of where and/or when such inspection and/or maintenance is indicated.

摘要: A method of determining the actual position of a track relative to a fixed point located in a lateral vicinity of the track by using a registering device being mobile on the track includes surveying the position of the fixed point relative to the track. The registering device is moved along the track, image pairs of the lateral vicinity of the track are continuously recorded by a stereo camera system on the registering device and the fixed point is searched for in the image pairs by pattern recognition carried out in an evaluation device. Upon recognition of the fixed point, the position of the fixed point relative to the track is determined by evaluating at least one image pair. This creates the possibility of surveying fixed points in passing with the configuration of the fixed point not being bound to any special form. A measuring system is also provided.

The supporting structure connects the wheeled trolley and the overhead vehicle body. The first sensor is on the bottom surface of the wheeled trolley and is configured to detect a first parameter of the rail of the rail system.

摘要: A device for checking a wheel of a rail car for flat spots. The device includes a microelectromechanical microphone for acquiring measured air-borne sound values within a first time span. In addition, the device includes a processing unit, which is configured to determine, as a function of the measured air-borne sound values acquired, if the wheel has a flat spot. The essence of the present invention is that the device includes an acoustic waveguide. In addition, the device takes the form of a mobile device and may be situated on or in the rail car in such a manner, that air-borne sound, which is radiated at a boundary surface, as air-borne sound, by structure-borne sound propagating through the rail car, is transmitted to the microphone by the acoustic waveguide. Also described is a related method for checking a wheel of a rail car for flat spots.

摘要: A system for real-time asset recognition and location includes an image capture and recognition system having a plurality of image capturing devices for capturing image data of an area surrounding a railroad track and a position determination system for determining a position of assets in the area surrounding the track. A processor analyzes captured image data and recognizes assets and correlates a determined position with each recognized asset. The system recognizes assets and determines positions of assets in real-time as the system is transported along a railroad track by a survey vehicle. The captured and analyzed data is stored to a data storage unit for immediate use in updating a railroad asset data base, subdivision files, or positive train control (PTC) files.

摘要: Provided is a technology for monitoring train doors which improves the accuracy of detection of trapping in vehicle doors. A server compares the difference between a static image (reference image 91), from each monitoring camera, of a normal state in which there is no trapping in vehicle doors, said static images being held in the server in advance, and a static image (an observation image 92) first acquired in a prescribed acquisition time. If a difference is present, the difference (difference image 94) between the reference image 91 and the observation image 92 acquired in the acquisition time is acquired. A quadrilateral F which covers the four sides of an object constituting the difference is subsequently rendered, the centre point of the quadrilateral is obtained, it is determined that trapping has occurred if movement of a centre coordinate C1, C2, . . . Cn, i.e. the difference between the centre coordinates C, is lower than a prescribed threshold value, and red frame rendering of video is indicated on a monitor.

摘要: The invention provides an alarm comprising: (i) a plurality of trackside sensors with known locations each sensor to measure at least one characteristic of each railcar wheelset as it passes that sensor's location; (ii) an information store to receive, store and later provide the railcar wheelset characteristics measured by the track-side sensors; (iii) a preset or predetermined trigger pattern of wheelset characteristics associated with wheelset failure or some other railcar condition requiring alarm or notification action; and (iv) a comparator to compare historical measured characteristics about a particular wheelset from the information store to the trigger pattern. The alarm is triggered responsive to a comparator indication of a suitable match between chronologically contiguous historical measured characteristics about a particular wheelset in the information store with the trigger pattern. The alarm may be used to guide preventive maintenance and logistics, railway and railcar safety, or operation of the railcar or way.
