    摘要: A cable stripper is provided which has an adjustable bushing which can be adjusted to accept a variety of differently size cables. The cable stripper is rotated around the cable to strip the insulation from a cable. The cable stripper can be attached to an existing tool to impact rotation of the cable stripper around the cable. The cable stripper includes a bushing having an axial passageway and a plurality of spaced slots which are in communication with the passageway, a plurality of cable retention blocks attached to the bushing, and a blade member mounted on the bushing, the blade member being seated within the passageway. The cable retention blocks are moveable relative to the bushing to pass through the slots and into the passageway to engage the cable mounted within the passageway. A retaining assembly is mounted on the bushing and fixes the position of the cable retention blocks relative to the bushing.

    摘要: A snap adapter for a wire stripping tool has a hollow body with a tool end, a component end, and a button. The tool end is sized for insertion into the tool body and the component end is sized for receiving a component meant to strip a cable of a specified diameter. The button comprises a pin feature for attaching the received component. Inserting the component into the snap adapter forces the pin away from the snap adapter hollow body to allow for full insertion of the component into the tool body. A spring disposed between the hollow body and button pushes the pin feature upwards through the hollow body to hold the component inside the snap adapter once the component is fully inserted. Removing the component requires pushing down the button to extract the pin feature, which allows the component to be slideably removed from the tool body.

The wire stripper has an actuator associated with the actuating wheel operably coupled to the stripper blade to move the stripper blade. The actuator causes the stripper blade to move as the actuating wheel is moved relative to the blade wheel to move the cutting edge of the stripper blade relative to the wire opening in the blade wheel.

    摘要: Determining at least one stripping parameter for stripping a cable containing a conductor by: a) cutting an insulation up to a cutting depth of a cable with at least one stripping knife, wherein an initial cutting depth is selected to be the cutting depth, which ensures that the at least one stripping knife comes in contact with the conductor; b) stripping the cut insulation by moving the at least one stripping knife in a longitudinal direction in relation to the cable; c) determining by a detecting unit whether the at least one stripping knife has come in contact with the conductor in the step a); and d) repeating the steps a) to c), wherein in each case the cutting depth is reduced by a cutting feed value until a conductor contact can no longer be determined, whereby the stripping cutting depth is maintained in a parameter determination phase.
