摘要： A method of implanting a surgical mesh in tissue includes providing an implant having an insertion aid connected with an end, and providing an insertion device having a handle, an actuator, an elongated shaft, and a cutting element. The elongated shaft has an outer wall with an opening for receiving the insertion aid. The method includes inserting the insertion aid into the opening of the shaft for connecting the implant with the insertion device, forming a surgical opening in tissue, advancing the distal end of the elongated shaft and the implant connected with the insertion device through the surgical opening, and engaging the actuator for moving the cutting element from a first position to a second position for severing the insertion aid from the end of the implant.

摘要： The present invention relates devices capable of continuous and simultaneous expression of components of a multi-part biomedical composition with variable mixing ratios. The device has at least two syringes that contain the inter-reactive components of the multi-part biomedical composition. At least the barrel of the first syringe has a first retention compartment having a cross-sectional area dimension that is larger than the cross-sectional area of a second retention compartment. The first piston has a cross-sectional dimension that matches the inside cross-sectional dimension of the small dimensioned retention compartment, while a ring-shaped gasket is located within the large dimensioned retention compartment and has an outside cross-sectional dimension that matches an interior dimension of the large dimension retention compartment.

摘要： A package for a medical device includes a folder having bottom and top panels, the bottom panel including a leading edge, a trailing edge, and at least one medical device securing element. The top panel has a leading edge, and a trailing edge joined with the trailing edge of the bottom panel. The folder has an unfolded configuration in which the leading edges of the top and bottom panels face in opposite directions, and a folded configuration in which the top panel is folded over the bottom panel so that the leading edges of the top and bottom panels face in the same direction and are aligned with one another. The folder is insertable into a sealable pouch having a seal with a first leg whereby the leading edges of the folder are abutted against the first leg of the seal of the pouch.

摘要： The present invention is directed to linear surgical staplers for joining tissue layers comprising a disposable cartridge installed in a first jaw connected to an opposing second jaw, said cartridge containing a plurality of deployable staples in arrays separated by a tissue resection slot and a plurality of resorbable medicant-releasing microneedles, said microneedles comprising elongated rods having a sharp tissue-penetrating distal end and a proximal end; said microneedles are releasably disposed on or within a tissue-facing surface of the cartridge, wherein the proximal end of the microneedles is supported on the cartridge. The present invention is also directed to methods of use of such stapler assembly devices.
