    Abstract: A communication management resource implements an iterative process to derive settings for digital precoder W, analog precoder A, and decode function D with a bandwidth-limited fronthaul link between the application of digital precoder W and the application of analog precoder A. The iterative process includes: for a first instance of digital precoder W and decode function D, optimize an instance of the analog precoder A; and based on the optimized instance of the analog precoder A, optimize a second instance of the digital precoder W and the decode function D. In one implementation, for each iteration of multiple iterations, the communication management resource: i) optimizes an instance of the analog precoder A based on an instance of the digital precoder W and the decode function D, and ii) optimizes an instance of the digital precoder W and the decode function D based on the instance of the analog precoder A.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting wireless medium sharing in wireless communications systems, e.g., various 802.11 wireless communications systems, are described. A novel shared transmission type of trigger frame is implemented, which allows a wireless station, acting as a host station, to make available transmission resources, which have been acquired by the wireless station, to one or more guest stations. A shared transmission type of trigger frame, generated and transmitted by the host station communicates information identifying the attributes of a corresponding trigger based (TB) frame, information identifying resources of the TB frame to be used by the host station and information identifying one or more set of shared resources which may be used by guest station(s). The trigger based (TB) frame, corresponding to the transmitted shared transmission type trigger frame, is used by the host station and one or more guest stations to transmit data to an access point.

    Abstract: According to one configuration, a system includes a first wireless station in communication with a second wireless station. A phase noise predictor model such as associated with the first wireless station receives phase noise information. The phase noise information captures an estimate of: i) first phase noise associated with a first wireless station, and ii) second phase noise associated with a second wireless station. Based on the received phase noise information, the predictor produces phase noise adjustment information. The predictor applies the phase noise adjustment information to adjust (compensate) a signal of the first wireless station. Adjustment of the signal results in phase noise adjustment with respect to both the first phase noise associated with the first wireless station and the second phase noise associated with the second wireless station.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for multi-cell broadcast access channel utilization in a wireless network. In one embodiment, the apparatus and methods provide random access channel (RACH) procedure for a 3GPP-compliant user device (e.g., an enhanced UE or UEe) which attempts to connect to multiple cells simultaneously. In one variant, the UEe employs a multi-step (e.g., 4-step) RACH procedure to connect to the multiple cells. This significantly increases the likelihood of RACH procedure success and UEe access. In another variant, a 2-step RACH process is utilized. Variants of the apparatus and methods utilizing unlicensed spectrum and LBT (listen-before-talk) protocols are also described.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for providing backhaul wireless services using a plurality of different Radio Access Technologies.     Abstract: Methods and apparatus used to facilitate preparation of one or more target base stations for possible UE handoffs, e.g., conditional handoffs, which may or may not occur depending on whether or not various handoff conditions are satisfied are described. A handoff message, e.g., a conditional handoff message, including a validity time is generated and sent to each selected target base stations to which a UE may be handed off. The validity time indicates to the target base station a time window, e.g., a time duration for which the handoff target message is to be considered valid. In response to the handoff message, the target base station, receiving the handoff message, allocates resources to the UE and starts a countdown validity timer based on the indicated length of the validity time. When the validity timer expires without handoff to the target base station, the target base station releases the allocated resources.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting prioritized transmission opportunity (TXOP) sharing in wireless communications systems, e.g., various 802.11 wireless communications systems, are described. A wireless station may be allocated a transmission opportunity. A shared transmission type of trigger frame is implemented, which allows the wireless station, acting as a host station, to make available transmission resources, which have been acquired by the wireless station, to one or more guest stations. A trigger based (TB) frame, corresponding to the transmitted shared transmission type trigger frame, is used by the host station and one or more guest stations to transmit data to an access point. An access point transmits priority information, e.g., in management frames, to control the use of shared resources in TB frames corresponding to shared transmission type trigger frames. The priority information identifies which particular stations are authorized to be a guest station corresponding to a particular transmission opportunity.
