There is provided a polarizer constituted by a polarizing element, and at least one transparent protective film constituted by two layers of retardation films with an in-plane retardation in a range of from 190 to 320 nm with respect to light having a wavelength of 550 nm. The transparent protective film is bonded onto one of opposite surfaces of the polarizing element so that a fast axis of each of the retardation films is parallel with an absorption axis of the polarizing element. A reflection type liquid-crystal display which is excellent in contrast when viewed with or without illumination and also in display brightness and in which displayed images viewed through a light conductive plate are less apt to be disturbed, i.e., excellent in clearness, and are less apt to have a decrease in perceptibility caused by moire phenomenon; and to develop a light conductive plate and a surface light source device with each of which the liquid-crystal display can be fabricated. A light conductive plate having, formed on the upper surface (11) thereof, a light-emitting means which serves to deflect incident light from an incidence-side edge (13) of the plate to emit the light through the lower surface (12) of the plate and further having, at least on the lower surface thereof, an antireflection layer (2) which enables incident light from the lower surface of the plate to pass through the upper surface of the plate; a surface light source device comprising the light conductive plate described above and a light source disposed by the incidence-side edge thereof; and a reflection type liquid-crystal display comprising the surface light source device described above and, disposed on the lower side thereof, a liquid-crystal cell having a reflecting layer. A continuous roll comprises an optical film laminate (15) that is in the form of a continuous web wound into a roll and comprises at least an optical function film (10) and a carrier film (13) releasably placed on the optical function film (10). The optical function film (10) is divided into a plurality of cut pieces by score lines (16) formed along a widthwise direction of the optical film laminate (15). It is possible to resolve the problem by making the bending rigidity per unit longitudinal length of the optical function film fall within a specific range.
