摘要： A pyridine-free Karl-Fischer reagent for the determination of water which comprises (a) a solvent solution containing sulfur dioxide and an amine in a Karl-Fischer reagent solvent, the amine being functionally equivalent to pyridine in a Karl-Fischer reagent, and (b) a titrating agent containing iodine in a Karl-Fischer solvent; the molar ratio of amine to sulfur dioxide being about 2:1 to about 1:1 and the reagent being essentially free of pyridine.

摘要： A load rod for vehicles, especially motor vehicles, which rod is constructed so as to be a tow rod, an impact rod, a mounting rod, or similar rod. The load rod includes a loop portion as well as force distributing legs that diverge from the loop portion and extend at a distance from each other. The force distributing legs are provided with a mounting section for enabling a mounting of the force distribution legs at portions of a body of the motor vehicle that have greater rigidity. The mounting sections are joined to the body portion of the motor vehicle by a welding. The load rod, formed as a connecting rod, includes at least two individual shaped rods having a predetermined cross section. The individual shaped rods are, within a connecting level, placed against each other with their rod loop portions and are welded together, while the individual force distributing legs diverge outwardly in a direction from both sides of the connecting level.

A method of microscopic staining comprises applying an aqueous solution or a lower aliphatic alcohol solution onto the side of a microscopic plate containing a test sample to be stained or onto the coating of such a thin cover sheet for use in the microscopic staining and contacting the test sample side of the microscopic plate and the coating side of the thin cover sheet.

摘要： An apparatus in which a cordless flat iron is energized by a one or more high-frequency oscillators subjacent the normally horizontal work supporting surface of an associated ironing board. The sole plate of the iron consists of a thin layer of conductive material and is electrically and thermally insulated from the handle of the flat iron. The magnetic field of a polarity alternating at high frequency which is generated above the work supporting surface by the oscillator generates eddy currents in the sole plate when the flat iron is placed on the surface or separated from the surface by normally nonconductive textile material to be ironed.
