Abstract: A display device includes a substrate including a peripheral region folded back to face a rear surface of the substrate, and a counter region facing the peripheral region; and a filling member held between the peripheral region and the counter region. The substrate is folded such that the display device includes a first overlapping portion where a part of the peripheral region is bonded with the counter region with an adhesive material being provided therebetween; a second overlapping portion where a part of the peripheral region is in direct contact with the filling member; and a third overlapping portion where a part of the peripheral region is bonded with the filling member with an adhesive material being provided therebetween.

Abstract: A manufacturing method of a display device includes: forming, in a resin layer including a display area where a plurality of lower electrodes is formed and a peripheral area surrounding the display area, a band-like groove which divides the resin layer in a form of surrounding the display area; forming an organic electroluminescence layer including a light emitting layer, on the resin layer and inside the band-like groove in such a way as to be placed on the plurality of lower electrodes; irradiating the organic electroluminescence layer with a pulse laser and thus eliminating the organic electroluminescence layer in such a way that a part of the organic electroluminescence layer is left in a shape of an island at least on a bottom surface of the band-like groove and that the bottom surface of the band-like groove is continuously exposed in the form of surrounding the display area.

A touch sensor is disposed on the display surface and detects contact of an object with the display surface. As the touch sensor, a capacitive contact sensor is disposed in a main area of the display surface that is set to include a central portion, and a resistive contact sensor is disposed in a side area of the display surface that includes at least a portion of an edge of the display surface and is set exclusively of the main area.

Abstract: A display device includes a plurality of pixels on a substrate including an insulating surface. A distance between a surface of the substrate and a face of the light-emitting layer in contact with the insulating layer is equal to or smaller than a distance between the surface of the substrate and a face of the light-emitting layer in contact with the pixel electrode.
