    摘要: A simple disposable absorbent article including a chassis and an absorbent assembly. The chassis includes a water-impermeable sheet folded laterally inward at both of its side edges to form opposing side flaps. Each side flap is attached to the interior surface of the chassis adjacent to its end edges. Each side flap has a longitudinally extending elastic gathering member attached adjacent to its proximal edge. The absorbent assembly is smaller in width and in length than the chassis. The side edges and end edges of the absorbent assembly may be disposed proximally relative to the respective side edges and end edges of the chassis. The absorbent assembly includes an absorbent core that may contain superabsorbent particles, which may be contained inside pockets. The chassis may be extensible. The absorbent assembly may be in a cruciform pattern to the chassis to allow portions of the chassis to extend laterally.

    摘要: An end effector for an endoscopic surgical instrument having a longitudinal body with proximal and distal ends and an actuator at the proximal end of the body includes a clevis to be connected to the distal end of the body and two jaws. Each of the jaws has a tang portion pivotally connected to the clevis and to be connected to the actuator for pivoting the jaw. The jaw has body portion with a lateral side having substantially straight opposing edges and a proximal portion connecting the lateral side to the tang portion and a nose portion connected to the lateral side and having substantially linear edges at an angle to the edges of the lateral side. The hollow body and nose portions define a biopsy cup for receiving a tissue sample therein and the opposing and linear edges form a pinching surface for contacting extremities of the tissue sample.

In one embodiment of the invention, the envelope is equipped with a coating of light emitting material which highlights the buttons on the remote control apparatus.

    摘要: A flexible endoscopic clip applier includes a flexible coil with a manual actuator coupled to one end and a jaw assembly coupled to the other end. A store of clips is arranged adjacent to the jaw assembly and a clip pusher is arranged adjacent to the store of clips. The actuator includes a lever for opening and closing the jaws, a knob for rotating the jaw assembly, and a crank for dispensing clips. The knob and the lever are coupled to a single control member which extends through the coil to a joiner where it is joined to a pair of pull wires coupled to the jaws. The crank is coupled to a second control member which is threaded along a distal portion. The threaded portion engages a threaded member near the pusher and is coupled to the pusher such that rotation of the threaded control member by the crank causes the pusher to be moved distally.
