    摘要： An information storage medium such as a CD-ROM has a storage area divided into a plurality of sections, for storing digital audio information and for storing picture information and character information, which are stored independently of each other. The digital audio information includes accompaniment information which represents musical accompaniments relative to songs, and the character information includes information which represents words of the songs to be reproduced in time with the musical accompaniments, in the form of characters, figures, colors, or a combination thereof. An information reproducing apparatus for playing back the information storage medium controls the speed at which the character information is to be output, the shape of characters and figures representing the character information, the colors thereof, or a combination thereof.

The CD-ROMXA disk is typically loaded in a musical accompaniment playback apparatus, or "karaoke" playback apparatus. When the disk is played back, the recorded digital audio information is reproduced to play back a desired musical accompaniment. A word-of-song start address position in the word-of-song address information is specified for thereby starting reproducing the music piece information from a music start address position which corresponds to the word-of-song start address position. A word-of-song end address position in the word-of-song address information is specified for thereby stopping reproducing the music piece information at a music end address position in the word-of-song address information which corresponds to the word-of-song end address position.

    摘要： An object of the invention is to provide a disc autochanger without any disc reversing mechanism by using on A-side recording and reproducing apparatus and a B-side recording and reproducing apparatus while using a sheet-like optical disc in which both surfaces can be recorded and reproduced. The disc autochanger is constituted by a cartridge storing a plurality of sheet-like optical discs in which both surfaces are recorded and reproduced in a state of putting in a tray, the A-side recording and reproducing apparatus in which a moving table of an A-side recording and reproducing portion is arranged in an upper side of a tray take-out mechanism and a moving table of a cap is provided in a lower side thereof, and the B-side recording and reproducing apparatus in which a moving table of a B-side recording and reproducing portion is arranged in a lower side of the tray take-out mechanism and a moving table of a cap is provided in an upper side thereof. Accordingly, since it is possible to alternately supply the sheet-like optical discs in which both surfaces are recorded and reproduced to the A-side and B-side recording and reproducing apparatuses from the cartridge, it is possible to record and reproduce continuously and in parallel.
