    摘要: A 2D-3D switchable autostereoscopic display device has an imaging arrangement (109) electrically switchable between a 2D mode and a 3D mode, which comprises in-plane switching electrodes comprising coplanar parallel electrode lines. The electrode lines are arranged as a plurality of sets of parallel lines, each set defining a lenticular lens area. Each set comprises first electrode lines at the opposite boundaries between the lens area and adjacent lens areas, and at least a first pair of electrode lines disposed between the opposite boundaries and symmetrical about the centre of the lens area, wherein each set comprises at most six electrode lines between the opposite boundaries. This provides an electrode layout which is simple to manufacture and yet has been found to provide good optical lens quality.

    摘要: The invention relates to a light source and an illumination system. The light source (10) comprises a light emitter (20) and a light conversion element (30). The light emitter emits visible light of a first color through the light conversion element in a direction away from the light source. The light conversion element comprises a photoluminescent material (40) for converting at least a part of the light of the first color into light of a second color different from the first color. The light source further comprises conversion material (42) for converting at least a part of ambient light impinging on the conversion material into light of a third color (Ba) different from the second color. When the light emitter emits light, the color of the light emitted is mainly a mixture of the light of the first color and light of the second color. When the light emitter does not emit light, the color of the light emitted by the light source is determined by the reflected ambient light, light of the second color and light of the third color. As such, the color of the light source can be tuned when the light emitter does not emit light and can, for example, be made substantially identical to the color of the light emitted when the light emitter emits light.

    摘要: An autostereoscopic display device comprises a display panel (3) having an array of display pixel elements (5) for producing a display, the display pixel elements being arranged in rows and columns. An imaging arrangement (9) directs the output from different pixel elements to different spatial positions to enable a stereoscopic image to be viewed. The imaging arrangement comprises first and second polarization-sensitive lenticular arrays (50,52), wherein the light incident on the imaging arrangement is controllable to have one of two possible polarizations, and wherein each of the two possible polarizations gives a different 3D mode. These multiple modes can be used to increase the resolution, or increasing the number of views, or provide additional functionality to the display device.
