Abstract:
An improved mold for making a golf ball comprises a pair of mold cups which are assembled together along mating surfaces that form a parting line. The mold cups are completely without sprues (vents). A lower mold cup has an undercut section of p to 360° in the rim area of the mating surface that allows for a very restricted but controlled flow at the parting line. The undercut section is of a depth of about 0.002 inch or less. This provides for a significant increase in the shear strength that results in a golf ball having less delamination, smaller voids, and a significant increase in impact cover durability.
Abstract:
A method of managing vapors generated from an ammonia-containing reductant delivery system for an engine, comprising of storing an ammonia-containing fluid in a first storage device; generating ammonia vapors in the first storage device and storing said generated ammonia vapors in a second storage device; and purging said stored vapors from the second storage device to upstream of a combustion chamber of the engine during a first condition and downstream of the combustion chamber during a second condition.
Abstract:
Apparatus, methods, and articles of manufacture for encoding a compressed media stream are disclosed. A disclosed method encodes frames associated with one or more compressed media streams within the media signal on a frame-by-frame basis and releases for transmission an encoded version of the media signal containing the encoded frames on a packet-by-packet basis.
Abstract:
RFID tags are commanded to generate a pilot tone in their backscatter. When the backscattered pilot tone is received in the reader, the pilot tone is used to estimate the tag period/frequency. Then, the estimate is used to seed and lock a symbol timing recovery loop, which provides a detected signal to one or more correlators for detecting the tag preamble. A delayed version of the received tag signal is compared against a baseline signal threshold established from the received signal to detect the pilot tone.
Abstract:
Compounds, compositions and methods are provided for modulating the expression of SLC26A2. The compositions comprise oligonucleotides, targeted to nucleic acid encoding SLC26A2. Methods of using these compounds for modulation of SLC26A2 expression and for diagnosis and treatment of disease associated with expression of SLC26A2 are provided.
Abstract:
An RFID tag has a Non Volatile Memory (NVM) array that can store data in a way that survives loss of power. The data is configuration data that controls the operation of an operational component of the tag. A performance of the operational component is thus adjusted according to the configuration data, and the adjustment is retained.
Abstract:
RFID system components, such as readers and tags, communicate where the reader inventories a population of tags. The reader evaluates responses from tags by categorizing them in slots. As tags are inventoried, the number of slots based on a Q-parameter is reduced. The reader determines an interim value for the Q parameter, generates a Q1 value by applying the interim value to a damping function, and uses the Q1 value in another round of interrogation. The reader then determines whether to increase or decrease the interim value depending on the tag replies. The increase or decrease may be an increment or a decrement such as incrementing or decrementing a floating point number of the interim value in a damping function that is arranged to return an integer by rounding the floating point number.
Abstract:
Analog-valued floating-gate transistors are used as trimmable circuit components for modifying and/or controlling the gain, phase, offset, frequency response, current consumption, and/or transfer function of signal pathways in parallel and/or serial processing circuits in radio frequency, analog, or mixed-signal integrated circuits.

Abstract:
Mutant antithrombin modified to carry a more positive charge in the H-helix is provided. The modified antithrombin modulates the activities of thrombin, and extends the bioavailability of factor VIII.
