Abstract: A display device with fewer terminals. The display device includes a timing signal generating circuit which outputs an output signal based on a clock signal, in which one signal line serves as both a signal line to which a start pulse signal that drives the timing signal generating circuit is input and a signal line to which an image signal is input. Further, a blocking circuit which outputs a start pulse to the timing signal generating circuit but does not output the image signal is provided between the signal line and the timing signal generating circuit.

Abstract: A display apparatus with low power consumption is provided. The display apparatus includes a circuit for boosting a signal voltage output from a gate driver. The signal voltage from the gate driver can be boosted and then supplied to a pixel, which is suitable for driving a display device with a high threshold voltage. Furthermore, by utilizing a boosting function, output of the gate driver can be reduced, and power consumption can also be reduced. By combination with a pixel having a boosting function of image data, a display apparatus with lower power consumption can be achieved.

Abstract: A display device featuring a touch detection and a fingerprint imaging functions is provided. A display device includes a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element. The light-emitting element includes a first pixel electrode, a light-emitting layer, and a common electrode, and the light-receiving element includes a second pixel electrode, an active layer, and the common electrode. The first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are provided on the same plane. The common electrode overlaps with the first pixel electrode with the light-emitting layer therebetween, and overlaps with the second pixel electrode with the active layer therebetween. A first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and an insulating layer are provided above the common electrode. The insulating layer is provided above the first conductive layer, and the second conductive layer is provided above the insulating layer. The light-receiving element has a function of receiving light emitted from the light-emitting element.

Abstract: Provided is a highly reliable semiconductor device. The present invention relates to a shift register circuit including a plurality of stages of sequential circuits. An output signal of a sequential circuit is input to a sequential circuit in the subsequent stage. Before a sequential circuit outputs a signal and after the sequential circuit outputs the signal, the potential of a gate of a transistor included in the sequential circuit is changed in accordance with a clock signal so as to avoid voltage stress application between the gate and a source of the transistor for a long time. The shift register circuit can be applied to a scan line driver circuit of a display apparatus, for example.

Abstract: A display device with an imaging function is provided. A high-resolution imaging device or display device is provided. The display device includes first to third switches, first and second transistors, a capacitor, first and second wirings, and a light-emitting and light-receiving element. One electrode of the first switch is electrically connected to the first wiring, and the other electrode is electrically connected to a gate of the first transistor and one electrode of the capacitor. One electrode of the second switch is electrically connected to one of a source and a drain of the first transistor, one electrode of the light-emitting and light-receiving element, and the other electrode of the capacitor, and the other electrode of the second switch is electrically connected to a gate of the second transistor and one electrode of the third switch. The other electrode of the third switch is electrically connected to the second wiring. The light-emitting and light-receiving element has a function of emitting light of a first color and a function of receiving light of a second color.

The display apparatus is configured to include first to third switches, a first transistor, a second transistor, and a light-emitting/receiving element. The third switch is positioned between the one electrode of the light-emitting/receiving element and a gate of the second transistor. The other of the source and the drain of the first transistor is supplied with a first potential. The other electrode of the light-emitting/receiving element is supplied with a second potential. The light-emitting/receiving element has a function of emitting light of a first color and a function of receiving light of a second color.

Abstract: The display apparatus includes a data generation circuit, a source driver circuit, and a pixel. The source driver circuit is electrically connected to the pixel through first and second wirings. The pixel includes a display device that is a liquid crystal device, a potential of one electrode of the display device can be a potential of the first wiring, and a potential of the other electrode of the display device can be a potential of the second wiring. The image data generation circuit has a function of generating digital image data including first and second data. One of the first and second wirings is made to have a potential corresponding to first data, and the other of the first and second wirings is made to have a potential corresponding to the second data. The potential of the first wiring and the potential of the second wiring are interchanged.
