    摘要: The present invention provides methods and compositions for attenuating expression of a target gene in vivo. In general, the method includes administering RNAi constructs (such as small-interfering RNAs (i.e., siRNAs) that are targeted to particular mRNA sequences, or nucleic acid material that can produce siRNAs in a cell), in an amount sufficient to attenuate expression of a target gene by an RNA interference mechanism. In particular, the RNAi constructs may include one or more modifications to improve serum stability, cellular uptake and/or to avoid non-specific effect. In certain embodiments, the RNAi constructs contain an aptamer portion. The aptamer may bind to human serum albumin to improve serum half life. The aptamer may also bind to a cell surface protein that improves uptake of the construct.

    摘要: A bowling lane maintenance machine utilizes flexible wick segments to transfer lane dressing to the applicator roll of the machine. The wick segments are caused to flex into and out of contacting engagement with a transfer roll associated with the applicator roll by rotatable cams that engage cam followers associated with the wick segments. The cams are all secured to a common cam shaft and are rotated in unison through successive short segments of rotational travel by an indexing motor that responds to a controller. Each wick segment has at least one spring that urges the segment into contacting engagement with the transfer roll, while the cam for that segment is disposed to engage the follower and flex the wick segment off the transfer roll against the action of the spring when the lobe of the cam is in contacting engagement with the follower.

    摘要: A method is provided for making an integrated circuit dielectric. A structure-directing agent (SDA) is provided. Preferably this structure-directing agent is a salt of a polycyclic organic compound. By use of the structure-directing agent, a film of a zeolite having a framework density below 15 T atoms per 1000 cubic angstroms and comprising primarily silicon and/or germanium atoms in the T positions is provided on a semiconductor substrate. Preferably the zeolite has the LTA structure. The structure-directing agent is removed from the film. The removal may be effected, for example, by heating or by chemically and/or photochemically decomposing the structure-directing agent, preferably in a manner which allows it to be recovered. The film is then optionally modified to reduce its hydrophilicity.

    摘要: A bowling lane conditioning machine has dressing application mechanism that includes an elongated, non-rotating strip brush which transfers dressing from a dispensing means to another surface, such as a bristle-type, lane-engaging applicator roll, a metal transfer roll that in turn transfers the dressing to the applicator roll, or the lane surface itself. In a preferred embodiment, dressing is dispensed to an upper one of two strip brushes that extend along the length of an applicator roll and engage its bristles at circumferentially spaced locations around its periphery. Dressing dispensed to the upper strip brush migrates by gravity to the bristles of the applicator roll and becomes applied to the lane surface as the roll rotates down into engagement with the surface. No dressing is dispensed to the second strip brush, which feathers the dressing on the applicator roll and reduces splattering.

    摘要: A rollable sports ballast base for supporting a sports apparatus support member comprising a base member having a top surface and a bottom surface. The bottom surface contacts a support surface such as a driveway or other playing surface. There is at least one wheel assembly, retractable from a lower position to a raised position. The wheel assembly includes a pivoting connector coupled to the base member and a wheel bracket coupled to the pivoting connector. The wheel bracket includes an axle, at least one wheel, and a handle extending outwardly from the wheel bracket. The handle is used to pivotally rotate the wheel assembly about a transverse axis. When the handle is rotated away from the base member, the wheel assembly is placed in a lowered position whereby the wheel contacts the support surface thus separating the bottom surface of the base member from the support surface.
