A system and a method for protecting a resistive touch panel of a communication device includes setting a pressure threshold level, obtaining parameter values of the resistive touch panel and location information of the touch point and calculating the value of the touch resistance. The system and the method further includes confirming a pressure level corresponding to a range of the calculated resistance value, and outputting audio alerts using the alarm unit to prompt that the press action on the resistive touch panel is too forceful if the confirmed pressure level is not lower than the pressure threshold level.

An identifier of an application of the communication device is received. Based on the received identifier, an application corresponding to the received identifier is registered. A method of packaging a magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) die includes providing a lead frame having a die pad and lead fingers. The MRAM die is attached to the die pad with a first die attach adhesive and bond pads of the MRAM die are electrically connected to the lead fingers of the lead frame with wires using a wire bonding process. A pre-formed composite magnetic shield is attached to a top surface of the MRAM die with a second die attach adhesive. The magnetic shield includes a magnetic permeable filler material dispersed within an organic matrix. An encapsulating material is dispensed onto a top surface of the lead frame, MRAM die and magnetic shield such that the encapsulating material covers the MRAM die and the magnetic shield. The encapsulating material is then cured.

Methods of reducing pollution problems in power lines systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the method comprises applying Lotus Effect materials as a (superhydrophobicity) protective coating for external electrical insulation system applications. Further disclosed are methods of fabricating/preparing Lotus Effect coatings. Selected inorganic or polymeric materials are applied on the insulating material surface, and stable superhydrophobic coatings can be fabricated. Various UV stabilizers and UV absorbers can be incorporated into the coating system to enhance the coating's UV stability. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also discussed and claimed.

Methods and computer programs to quantify defects in an experimentally synthesized material for use in a battery are provided. A method includes an operation for obtaining spectra of the experimentally synthesized material. Further, defected structures of a crystalline structure are created via simulation, and spectra of the defected structures are obtained via simulation. In another method operation, the spectra of the experimentally synthesized material is compared to the spectra of the defected structures obtained via simulation, and if the spectra of the experimentally synthesized material is substantially equal to the spectra of the defected structures obtained via simulation then the defects in the experimentally synthesized material are quantified according to the defects in the defected structures.

Methods, systems, and computer programs for selecting electrode materials for a lithium battery are presented. In one embodiment, a method includes an operation for developing models for structural and energy analysis of battery stability, safety, cycling and performance, where the models are developed based on a selection of elements and compositions for the electrode materials. Properties of at least one cell performance parameter are estimated, and a cell discharge rate behavior is calculated. Another operation in the method is provided for selecting an electrode material composition based on the estimated properties and the cell discharge rate behavior. The method operations are performed by a computer system that includes a processor.
