    摘要: A method for the facile and inexpensive inducible expression of heterologous genes has been discovered. The yhcS regulator gene has been found to be inducible by aromatic carboxylic acids and to alter the expression of operons in the LysR gene family, including the yhcRQP operon, common in enteric bacteria. Heterologous nucleic acid molecules placed under the control of yhcS responsive promoters may be overexpressed in response to the presence of inexpensive aromatic carboxylic acids.

    摘要: Methods of creating and enhancing insect resistance in plants by introducing non-plant lipases into plants are provided. Plants with enhanced insect resistance and seed from plants thereof are provided. DNA sequences encoding insecticidal lipases and insecticidal lipase gene products that are useful in the practice of this invention are also provided. The compositions and methods of the invention may be used in a variety of agricultural systems for controlling pests, including propagating lineages of insect-resistant crops and targeting expression of these insecticidal lipases to plant organs that are particularly susceptible to infestation, such as roots and leaves.

    摘要: A method, apparatus, and system related to field and crop information gathering. In one aspect of the invention, data is obtained from a producer. One example would be yield map data from a yield monitor. Another is “as planted” data from precision farming planting equipment. The data includes information about seed or crop in a producer's field and an identification of the field. The data is combined with other information in a report. The information added could be, for example, soil type information overlaid on the field map. Another example is environmental classification information overlaid on the field map. The report is returned to the producer and used to discuss planning related to the field and the seed or crop.
