摘要： Composition for application to skin comprising a biocide or combination of biocides (such as chlorhexidine, halogenated phenols, quaternary ammonium compounds; povidone-iodine; zinc pyridinethione; alcohols etc.) and at least one transcutaneous vehicle (for example alkyl methyl sulfoxides, alkyl pyrrolidones, glycols, glycol ethers and glycol esters) effective to convey the biocide to a sub epidermal “resident” micro-organism. Also a method for preparing a patient for surgery comprising the step of treating an area of the patient's skin at, and in the surrounding the vicinity of, the site of an intended surgical incision with a composition effective to kill more than 93% of both “transient” and “resident” micro-organisms.

The cleaning and disinfection of the surfaces is achieved by means of a deaning textile and an aqueous preparation, comprising disinfection agents and additives selected from a group comprising a quatemary ammonium compound of formula (II), polydialkyldiallylammonium salts and derivatives thereof and the copolymers of dialkyldiallylammonium salts with acrylamide, and/or acrylic acid, and/or vinyl acetate, and derivatives thereof. The invention further relates to an aqueous concentrate, an aqueous preparation produced therefrom and a method for the reduction of active ingredient losses in disinfection solutions when using said concentrate.

Benzaldehyde is an embodiment of a soybean host plant volatile compound useful in the invention. Also useful as sex pheromones are nepetalactol and nepetalactone. The compounds may be blended in a preferred embodiment.

The preservative system which comprises a cationic surfactant, derived from the condensation of fatty acids and esterified dibasic amino acids, having the formula (I) where: Xnull is Brnull, Clnull, or HSO4 R1: is a straight alkyl chain from an acid or saturated fatty hydroxy acid from 8 to 14 atoms of carbon bonded to the null-amino acid group through amidic bond. R3: is: (II) where n can be from 0 to 4, is combined with at least one other ionic or non-ionic preservative agent, whereby the combination displays a synergetic activity. A preservative system, wherein the cationic surfactant preservative derived from the condensation of fatty acids and esterified dibasic amino acid is LAE is particularly preferred. The other ionic or non ionic preservative agent is preferably at least one component selected from the group consisting of 2-bromo-2-nitro-1,3-propanediol (bronopol), parbens, imidazolidinyl urea, phenoxyethanol, DMDM hydantoin, 2-methyl-5-chloro-3,4-isothiazolinone/2-methyl-3,4-isothiazolinone and quaternium-15.

摘要： Antimicrobial compositions based on the synergistic combination of 2-methyl-3-isothiazolone and selected commercial microbicides where the compositions are substantially free of halogenated 3-isothiazolone, are disclosed. Particularly preferred are combinations of 2-methyl-3-isothiazolone together with benzoic acid, citric acid, sorbic acid, 1,2-dibromo-2,4-dicyanobutane, 1,3-dimethylol-5,5-dimethylhydantoin, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, zinc pyrithione or climbazole, that provide enhanced microbicidal efficacy at a combined active ingredient level lower than that of the combined individual 3-isothiazolone and commercial microbicide effective use levels.
