Abstract:
The invention disclosed is a method for ultrasonic etching of polymeric printing plates. The method includes an etching bath energized by means of ultrasonic energy, a water spray bath, and an air dryer. The method for ultrasonic etching of polymeric printing plates includes the steps of immersing a polymeric printing plate in an etching bath, energized by ultrasonic energy, washing the polymeric printing plate in a water spray cleaning bath after ultrasonic etching, and air drying the water washed polymeric printing plate in a current of heated air.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to forming two silverless continuous tone photographic images from a sandwich comprising two UV transparent outer support layers and a pigment or dye filled photosensitive composition as the inner layer by exposing said composition to actinic radiation e.g., UV light through imagebearing transparencies adjacent each outer support layer to selectively insolublize the UV exposed areas of said composition, peeling said outer support layer apart and removing soluble portions of the composition in the unexposed areas thereby forming a silverless, continuous tone, photographic image on each outer support layer.

1,160,666. Polythioethers. INVENTA A.G. FUR FORSCHUNG UND PATENTVERWERTUNG, ZURICH. 4 June, 1968 [9 June, 1967], No. 26484/68. Heading C3R. Polythioethers containing units of formula where R and R 1 are aromatic radicals, are obtained by reacting an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of an aromatic dithiol with an aromatic dihalogen compound having at least three carbon atoms between the halogen atoms, the aromatic radical being free from electronattracting groups in o- or p-positions with respect to the halogen atoms, in a polar solvent at elevated temperature. In examples, polymers are obtained by heating potassium, lithium and sodium salts of diphenyl ether 4,41- dithiol with p-dibromo-benzene, p-dichlorobenzene and 4,4 1 -dibromodiphenyl ether, in N-methylpyrrolidone. Other salts mentioned are those of diphenyl sulphide dithiol, diphenylmethane dithiol and 4,4 1 -dimercaptodiphenyl, and other dihalogen compounds are 1,3- dibromo - benzene, 1,4 - dichloronaphthalene, 4 - chloro - 4 1 - bromodiphenyl, 4,41 - diiododiphenyl - methane and 4,41 - dichlorodiphenyl sulphide. A catalyst, e.g. copper, copper oxides, copper salts, N-bromosuccinimide or N-bromo-phthalimide, may be present in the reaction.

A lacquer composition is provided, comprising 20%-79.9% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a thiol compound having two or more thiol groups, 20%-79.9% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a compound having two or more carbon-carbon double bonds and 0.1%-10% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a separating agent having an alkyl radical having 4-20 carbon atoms, where the alkyl radical is unsubstituted or fluorine-substituted and the alkyl radical is bonded to a functional group. Also provided are the use of this lacquer composition as a protective lacquer on an optical surface of an optical element in the production of the optical element, and an optical element comprising the protective lacquer.
Abstract:
A dual-curable sealant composition includes a polysulfide having an —SH group, a metal oxide catalyst, and an alkyl-borane amine catalyst. A cured sealant is also formed from the dual-curable sealant composition. Moreover, a dual-cured sealant is formed that includes the polymerization product of the polysulfide reacted in the presence of the metal oxide catalyst and the alkylborane amine catalyst. Further, a dual-curable sealant system includes a first component including the polysulfide and the alkylborane amine catalyst and a second component including the metal oxide catalyst. An article is formed that includes a substrate and the cured sealant disposed on the substrate. Even further, a method of forming the dual-curable sealant composition includes the steps of providing the polysulfide, the alkylborane amine catalyst, and the metal oxide catalyst, and combining the polysulfide, the alkylborane amine catalyst, and the metal oxide catalyst to form the dual-curable composition.
