    Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling the parameters of groups of focal planes as focal plane groups in an array camera are described. One embodiment includes a plurality of focal planes, and control circuitry configured to control the capture of image data by the pixels within the focal planes. In addition, the control circuitry includes: a plurality of parameter registers, where a given parameter register is associated with one of the focal planes and contains configuration data for the associated focal plane; and a focal plane group register that contains data identifying focal planes that belong to a focal plane group. Furthermore, the control circuitry is configured to control the imaging parameters of the focal planes in the focal plane groups by mapping instructions that address virtual register addresses to the addresses of the parameter registers associated with focal planes within specific focal plane groups.

    Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a prism for separating a first luminous flux into a plurality of second luminous fluxes, a plurality of imaging sensors disposed corresponding to the second luminous fluxes, an image generator for generating image data based on output image signals, and focus controller for executing a focusing operation based on focus detection image signals. The imaging sensors each have a plurality of imaging pixels and a plurality of phase difference pixels disposed in a specific pattern. An arrangement of a first imaging sensor, which is one of the plurality of imaging sensors, is different from an arrangement of a second imaging sensor, which is another one of the plurality of imaging sensors. The specific pattern is such that a position of a phase difference pixel of the first imaging sensor does not overlap with a position of a phase difference pixel of the second imaging sensor.

    Abstract: A data acquisition method and an electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a first image capturing unit and a second image capturing unit. The first image capturing unit and the second image capturing unit utilize different imaging modes during image capturing. The method includes: acquiring first image data of a current scene captured by the first image capturing unit and second image data of the current scene captured by the second image capturing unit respectively, where the first image data includes first sub-image data and second sub-image data, the second image data includes third sub-image data, an image dimension of the third sub-image data is the same as the image dimension of the first sub-image data, and a resolution of the third sub-image data is higher than a resolution of the first sub-image data; and synthesizing the third sub-image data with the first sub-image data.
