Abstract: A health analysis fixture includes a receptacle. A volume of water and a body fluid sample form a water line within the receptacle. A light-emitting device and a light-sensing device are disposed within the receptacle. A measurement device determines a height of the water line before and after an introduction of the body fluid sample. A computer processor is configured to receive sensor data from the light-sensing device, receive the determined height of the water line before and after the introduction of the body fluid sample from the measurement device, calculate a dilution factor for the body fluid sample from the received height of the water line before and after the introduction of the body fluid sample, receive sensor data from the light-sensing device, and interpret the received sensor data based on the dilution factor to generate health information therefrom.

Abstract: A method for detecting bacteria and determining the concentration thereof in a liquid sample includes the steps of taking an optical section through a container holding a volume of the liquid sample at a predetermined field of view and at a predetermined focal plane depth or angle and after a period of time has elapsed to allow non-bacteria in the sample to settle to the bottom of the container. Since bacteria auto arranges in the liquid sample, forming a lattice-like grid pattern, an optical section through the volume of auto-arranged bacteria may be used to measure the quantity of bacteria residing in that section. A container for holding the liquid sample has particular structure which aids in separating the non-bacteria from the bacteria.

Abstract: Urine analysis system that couples or integrates with a toilet. Wirelessly links to a computer, such as a user's mobile device to accept control inputs and report urine test results. Accepts user input to initiate testing and deploys a urine collector into the toilet bowl above the water to collect a urine sample. The collected urine sample is dispensed onto multiple regions of a test matrix that may perform many urine tests simultaneously. A single test matrix may include multiple types of tests, such as immunochromatography and colorimetric assays. An optical imaging system detects reaction of the urine with reagents integrated into the test matrix. Analysis of images may be performed locally or on a remote server. The system may store an inventory of test matrices to support daily testing for long durations, for example 6 months or more before refilling.

Abstract: Provided is an electrolyte sensor that uses conductive elastomer electrodes. Examples of the intended analytes for sensor use include those found in urine, saliva, blood, feces, and spinal fluid, although other analytes exist for electrolyte detection. Conductive elastomer trace electrodes are separated by a channel or gap which can be bridged by an electrolyte and thereby complete an electrical circuit to an alarm or other circuitry. Channel or gap distances vary the level of electrical resistance associated with detecting certain analytes.
