Disclosed herein is a stabilizer mixture for modifying an olefin-based polymer, which comprises at least one organic phosphorus-containing antioxidant represented by a formula selected from the group consisting of formulae (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), and (8), as well as at least one sulfur-containing carboxylate salt represented by a formula selected from the group consisting of formulae (9), (10), (11), and (12). Also disclosed herein is a modified polymer composition prepared from an olefin-based polymer using the stabilizer mixture. The olefin-based polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyolefin, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and a combination thereof.

The present invention provides an oxygen scavenging composition for incorporation into a wall of a package. The composition comprises a polyester base polymer, at least one oligomeric, oxidizable poly(alkylene ether) glycol-α,ω-diester having the formula and at least one transition metal in a positive oxidation state. The compositions of the present invention do not exhibit an induction period prior to the onset of oxygen scavenging upon formation into a container.

Corrosion induced by the presence of naphthenic acids in hydrocarbon fluids, particularly where such fluids are at elevated temperatures, may be inhibited or controlled through use of corrosion inhibiting compositions comprising a combination of a minor portion of a phosphorus-based constituent and a major portion of a sulfur-based constituent, nitrogen-based constituent, or combination thereof. In another embodiment the sulfur-based constituent and/or nitrogen-based constituent may be used without any phosphorus-based constituent. Where the compounds are appropriately selected, the compositions may inhibit corrosion to a degree comparable or nearly comparable to the inhibition provided by an equal amount of some conventional phosphorus-based compounds alone, but are significantly less likely to impair catalyst activity in downstream cracking and refinery operations.

A corrosion inhibiting composition, comprising 20%-65% (wt.) of a wax; 10.0%-31.0% (wt.) of an oil; and 4.0%-16.0% (wt.) of a active calcium sulfonate. The wax of the corrosion inhibiting composition is preferably a microcrystalline wax, and may be at least partially obtained from petrolatum. Up to 6.0% polypropylene may also be used, either alone or in combination with up to 6.0% polyethylene. The corrosion inhibiting composition may also include SEBS rubber, in an amount of 2.0% to 6.0%.
