    摘要: The Invention comprises a versatile AC dynamo-electric machine comprising isolated dual stators, each both concentrated windings energizable with single-phase AC, and main windings and a single high inertia sleeve and drive place connected to a rotor shaft. The sleeve contains independent electrical rotors, one for each stator. Each rotor has an innermost layer of magnetizable permanent magnetic material in which the concentrated coils in the stator produce a desired pattern of magnetic poles reacting with the rotating field of the main windings. The machine can function as a synchronous AC motor, or a constant frequency output dual AC generator or as an AC motor-generator with long ride-through time. A UPS system comprises the machine in the motor-generator mode, with clutch means to connect an engine to the rotor shaft to start the engine.

    摘要: A heart pump having a housing with a central longitudinal axis, inlet means and an outlet means is disclosed. A stationary shaft extends axially within the housing and the means are provided for supporting the shaft centrally located within the housing. A stator assembly is mounted about the stationary shaft and a shell assembly is rotatable about the stator assembly and shaft. The shell assembly is located between the housing and stator assembly and includes a spiral ridge located on the outerside thereof for pumping blood through the housing between the housing and shell assembly as the shell assembly rotates. Rotor laminations are located on an innerside of the shell assembly. The rotor laminations have a plurality of axially extending permanent magnets therebetween which are circumferentially spaced about the stationary shaft. A damper winding means is mounted within the rotor laminations. Blood may flow between the shell assembly and housing without exposure to magnetic fields.

The rotor is divided into at least two differently constructed sections that lie axially one behind the other, of which only the first section is provided with permanent magnets and the open loops of soft-magnetic material, and the second section has the loops of soft-magnetic material, located within each other, each of which is arranged over a part of the pole covering and is open to the air gap, to control the additional magnetic longitudinal field produced by the armature winding, wherein these longitudinal fields are separated by non-magnetic material.

    摘要: A rotor assembly for a permanent magnet motor includes a set of laminations forming a rotor body, each lamination having a first magnet slot therein. A generally rectangular permanent magnet is disposed in the magnet slot, the magnet slot of each lamination being shaped so as to receive the rectangular permanent magnet through all the skewed laminations with a minimum air gap. A method of making an assembly such as a rotor includes the steps of providing an assembly body made of ferromagnetic material defining at least one magnet slot therein. The slot is at least partially filled with a mixture of magnetizable particles in a binder. The mixture is compressed and then cured, to bond the magnetizable particles together in the slot, and the bonded particles are then magnetized in the slot to form a magnet in situ in the slot without an air gap.

    摘要: A permanent magnet rotor has a plurality of high performance permanent magnets supported in each set of a plurality of stacked rotor laminations of magnetic material, with holding laminations at each end of each set of the stacked rotor laminations enclosing the magnets. Bolts extend through aligned holes in all of the laminations to enable nuts to be attached, to form a stacked and bolted assembly. The magnets are preferably radially disposed and equiangularly spaced from each other. A groove is disposed in each of the laminations between a non-magnetic shaft and the inner end of each of the magnets to reduce flux leakage. An electrically conducting and non-magnetic material is disposed at the outer end of each of the magnets, to reduce flux leakage. In another embodiment, four high performance magnets are supported in each set of a plurality of stacked rotor laminations of magnetic material about a magnetic shaft, so that the two separate pairs of magnets of each set cooperate to produce two separate fields of flux.

    摘要: A high efficiency permanent magnet AC machine comprises a permanent magnet rotor mounted for rotation within a stator excited by alternating current. The rotor is formed of a cylindrical core of unitary laminations into which a squirrel cage winding is embedded. Current is induced in the winding to provide sufficient torque to accelerate the rotor from rest. Magnetic members are secured through the rotor core such that an even number of radial magnetic member segments each extend parallel to a respective quadrature machine axis. The magnetic members each generate magnetic flux which is directed parallel to a respective direct axis and perpendicular to a respective quadrature axis of the machine. As the rotor accelerates to synchronous speed, rotor flux interacts with stator flux causing the rotor to synchronize with the rotating stator field, thus allowing the machine to achieve synchronous machine performance.
