    摘要: A modular camera having a chassis module, a camera module, an illumination module and a communications module that together form a cooling passageway. The chassis module has a back wall having a first end and an opposite second end, a bottom wall having at least one opening formed therein, a first fan mounted at the chassis back wall first end, and a second fan mounted at the chassis back wall second end. The camera module has a body, wherein the camera body is removably received through a hole formed through the chassis module back wall. The illumination module has a back wall, wherein the illumination module is removably coupled to the chassis module so that the illumination module back wall is spaced apart from the chassis module back wall. The communication module is removably coupled to the chassis module. The chassis module back wall, the camera module body, the illumination module back wall and the communications module together form a cooling channel.

    摘要: A system for scanning objects having at least two linear array sensors, adapted to detect light input signals, is provided. A lens is optically connected to each of the linear array sensors, and are adapted to receive and transmit an optical image located in a respective lens field of view along a respective lens axis to the respective one of the at least two linear array sensor. A light source which generates an illumination stripe in general linear alignment with the lens axis across a depth of the field of view is provided. A cylindrical lens is positioned between the light source and an object to be scanned. The cylindrical lens adapted to collect, transmit and focus light from the light source to form the illumination stripe. This arrangement provides a wider system field of view with generally more uniform resolution.

    摘要: A conveyor system for processing items on which radio frequency identification tags are disposed includes a frame and a conveyor disposed moveably on the frame and that conveys items through a path of travel, each item having at least one respective radio frequency identification tag disposed thereon. A plurality of antennas are disposed proximate the path of travel so that the plurality of antennas radiate radio frequency signals into first areas through which the items pass and receive responses to the radio frequency signals from the respective radio frequency identification tags on the items. A first antenna is offset with respect to the path of travel from a second antenna so that the radio frequency signals from the second antenna generally do not interfere with reception of responses by the first antenna from radio frequency identification tags located within a predetermined second area along the path of travel. A radio frequency receiver receives signals from the first antenna corresponding to the responses received by the first antenna from the radio frequency identification tags and outputs first signals corresponding to the responses. A processor receives the first signals from the receiver and is programmed to associate a first signal with the first item if the processor receives the first signal from the receiver while at least a portion of the first item is within the second area.

A line scanner (110) to create a first image of an object. The first image is composed of a plurality of scan lines, each having a resolution. Each of the scan lines is then rescaled, so that the resolution of each scan line is equal to the resolution of every other scan line. Each of the scan lines is processed in two halves so that the center lines of the scan lines are co-linear after rescaling. The line scanner is optionally configured to vary its field of view as a function of the distance between the line scanner and the portion of the object being scanned.

    摘要: An apparatus for determining measurements of an object moving along a conveyor path having a support surface is provided. The apparatus includes an object detector located along the conveyor path which is adapted to detect the leading edge of the object and generate a leading edge signal. An object speed detector is located along the conveyor path and is adapted to generate an object speed signal. A light source is located above the conveyor path and generates a light beam having a sharp edge which extends across the support surface in a direction transverse to a direction of movement of the object to define a light beam intersect path on the support surface. The light beam is arranged at a fixed angle of incidence of less than 90null relative to the support surface. An image sensor is located above the support surface and includes a line of sight generally normal to the support surface which is directed through a lens located at a fixed position between the image sensor and the support surface to focus a reflected image of the light beam intersect path projected on the support surface onto the image sensor. The image sensor detects the light beam intersect path on the support surface only in areas not obstructed by the object and generates a negative image profile signal. A signal processor is provided in communication with the object detector, the object speed sensor and the image sensor which receives the leading edge signal, the object speed signal and the negative image profile signal and calculates an approximate object size. The object position and orientation can also be determined.

A rotating sweeping unit is positioned to receive light from the scanning zone and reflect it to the imaging device. The sweeping unit sweeps through the scanning zone along a sweep path. The imaging device captures a plurality of image segments that extend generally across the transport path and are each at least 1nullN pixels in size. Movement of the sweeping unit is preferably synchronized to movement of the objects along the transport path.
