Abstract:
A tire having a tread composed of two non-conductive layers, each layer containing a circumferential insert of conductive mix, the inserts having a wider interface at the interface of the two layers. An apparatus for extruding a layer, provided with a conductive insert, including a main extruder for extruding a non-vulcanized, non-conductive layer, and a micro-extruder having an extrusion head, provided at its end with a nozzle, for extruding a conductive insert in the layer.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a shock strut for a Mac Pherson wheel suspension comprising a shock absorber with a body (21) and a rod (22). A coil spring (24) is mounted on a lower spring retainer (23) integral with the shock absorber body (21). The first turn of the spring (24) of the MacPherson strut can be immobilized on and relative to the lower spring retainer (23) in various predetermined positions on the lower spring retainer (23).
Abstract:
A tire with radial carcass reinforcement 1, having a crown reinforcement 3aving at least two working crown plies 32, 34 made of inextensible cables, crossed from one ply to the other and forming angles of between 10.degree. and 45.degree. with the circumferential direction, characterized in that in the absence of any ply formed of inextensible cables forming an angle greater than 45.degree. with the circumferential direction, an additional, axially continuous, ply 33 formed of metallic elements oriented substantially parallel to the circumferential direction, is placed radially between the working plies 32, 34, having an axial width L.sub.33 at least equal to 1.05 times the axial width of the widest working crown ply L.sub.32, L.sub.34.
Abstract:
An axle comprises having a crossmember coupling two arms, each arm carrying a stub axle for receiving a wheel, the crossmember being formed essentiy by two coaxial half-crossmembers partially inserted into each other. Resilient rings non-slidingly integral with each of the half-crossmembers and axially spaced from each other ensure the relative torsional stress transmission between the half-crossmembers. The crossmember is not aligned with the pivot axis of the arms on the body.
Abstract:
A wheel is formed of a rim and a wheel disk, the rim having a first rim s and a second rim seat, at least the first rim seat having a generatrix which is inclined towards the outside and extended axially towards the inside by a bearing surface intended to receive a tread support ring. The rim bearing surface is provided, radially to the outside, with elements in relief separated by recesses or hollows. On the major part of the entire surface of the radially inner wall of the wheel rim, each point of a generatrix of the radially inner wall, included between the point of tangency A of said generatrix with the corresponding axially inner generatrix of the disk and the end B axially located on the end of the second wheel seat, is on a circle of diameter D.sub.P which is at least equal to the diameter D.sub.A of the circle on which the point of tangency A is located and at most equal to the diameter D.sub.B of the circle on which the end B is located.
Abstract:
A radial "heavy vehicle" tire, of H/S form ratio of at most 0.60, with a wn reinforcement (2) composed of at least two crossed working plies (21, 22), and at least one ply (20) of circumferential cables arranged above the carcass ply (1) and a tread (10) of width L, characterized in that there is arranged, between the ply of circumferential cables (20) and the first, radially innermost, working ply (21), a layer of rubber mix (4) of low modulus of extension, of constant thickness of between 2 and 3 mm. and having a width LM equal to L21, while the second, radially outermost, working ply (22), of axial width L22, which is greater than the width L21, is separated radially from the edge of the ply of circumferential cables (20), firstly by a rubber cushion (5) of a high modulus of extension, extending axially from the end of the working ply (21) beyond the end of the ply of circumferential cables (20), and secondly, radially on the outside of said cushion (5), by a wedge of rubber (6) of a modulus which is intermediate the low modulus and the high modulus and extends axially substantially from the edge of the radially outer working ply (22) to a point axially on the inside of the end of the working ply (21).
Abstract:
Prevulcanized tread strip (1, 10) including a cap (2) and two side wings 20, 30), such that each lateral end of said wings (3, 20, 30) ends in a bead (4, 21, 31) made of elastomeric material with a substantial thickness in the region intended for connection to a tire carcass.
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is a rubber composition which is inted for the manufacture of tires and has a base of precipitated silicas "doped" with aluminum, the aluminum content being between .gtoreq.0.35% and .ltoreq.3% by weight of silica. Said composition has improved working properties as well as improved hysteresis properties.
Abstract:
A method of fitting a tire and support ring on a one-piece wheel rim in wh the rim includes a first wheel rim seating surface and a second wheel rim seating surface, the first wheel rim seating surface tapering outwardly and having a small hump at the axially outer end and being connected axially on the inside to a cylindrical portion intended to receive a tread support ring, the tire having a first bead and a second bead to be fitted, respectively, on the first wheel rim seating surface and the second wheel rim seating surface, and in which the removable support ring is inserted into the tire before fitting the support ring on the wheel rim.
