Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a laminate film that includes an oriented, polymeric film and a polyolefinic substrate. The oriented, polymeric film includes about 60.0 to about 95.0 wt % of a first polymer and about 5.0 to about 40.0 wt % of a propylene-based elastomer. The polyolefinic substrate is laminated to the first surface of the first surface layer.
Abstract:
Multi-layer films that are suitable for packaging and having improved sealing properties are disclosed. Some embodiments may also provide a lower minimum sealing temperature. A soft polymer is blended in a core layer and a tie layer comprising the soft polymer and, optionally, another polymer. A sealable layer is provided on the side of the tie layer opposite the core layer. The multi-layer films may be transparent, contain a cavitating agent, or are pigmented to form an opaque film. Also, the multi-layer film may be metallized or coated with a barrier coating.
Abstract:
A coextruded, heat-sealable film structure includes a core layer of a thermoplastic polymer having a first side and a second side. A functional layer which is printable, sealable, or can be laminated or is treatable for printing, sealing, or laminating is on the first side of the core layer. A heat-sealable layer is on the second side of the core layer. The heat-sealable layer is composed of a thermoplastic polymer and an amount of a slip system, based upon the entire weight of the heat-sealable layer, sufficient to reduce the coefficient of friction and improve the slip performance of the film structure. The slip system is composed of a silicone gum and at least one antiblocking agent. The film structure exhibits the desirable combination of improved converting performance and excellent machinability performance.

Abstract:
Method and apparatus for fracturing different levels of a completion interval in a well. A workstring lowers a fracturing string which, in turn, is comprised of a base pipe which is blank except for perforated sections spaced along its length. Screen may be provided over said sections to block the flow of sand into the base pipe. An alternate flow path (e.g. shunt tubes) extends along the base pipe and has one or more outlets spaced along its length. A slurry is flowed into the annulus surrounding the fracturing string. As liquid is lost from the slurry, sand from the slurry will form bridges at said perforated sections thereby isolating portions of the annulus. Slurry then flows through the shunts tube(s) and out into the isolated portions to fracture the different levels in the completion interval.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to formulated lubricant oils derived from a highly paraffinic basestock. The lubricating oils of the present invention achieve the extremely stringent viscosity requirements of SAE “0W” crossgraded engine oils and demonstrate an excellent combination of low-temperature performance and biodegradability not achievable by other formulations derived from other classes of basestocks.
Abstract:
A process for producing alkyl aromatic compounds which comprises contacting at least one aromatic compound with at least one alkylating agent or transalkylating agent possessing at least one aliphatic group having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms under alkylation or transalkylation reaction conditions and in the presence of an alkylation or transalkylation catalyst, to provide an alkylated aromatic product possessing at least one alkyl group derived from said alkylating agent or transalkylating agent, said catalyst comprising a binder-free molecular sieve having an X-ray diffraction pattern that includes the lines set forth in Table A.
Abstract:
The catalyst becomes at least partially deactivated by sorbing catalyst poisons present in the feed during a process for alkylating aromatics by contacting a feed containing benzene, toluene, xylenes, alkylbenzenes, naphthalene or substituted naphthalenes under liquid phase alkylating conditions with C2-C16 olefins in the presence of MCM-22, MCM-36, MCM-49, MCM-56, ZSM-5, ZSM-11, ZSM-12, ZSM-23, ZSM-35, ZSM-48, ZSM-50, ZSM-4, ZSM-18, ZSM-20, Zeolite X, Zeolite Y, USY, mordenite or offretite to provide an alkylated aromatic product. The at least partially deactivated catalyst can be treated in situ by contacting with at least one polar compound having a dipole moment of at least 0.05 Debyes and selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, formic acid, water, and carbon monoxide, under conditions of temperature and pressure employed in the liquid phase alkylating conditions which are sufficient to at least partially desorb the catalyst poison from the catalyst.
