摘要: Catheter-based applicators incorporating a microwave ablation antenna are provided. The applicator can be flexible and suitable for delivering ablation to target tissues via endoscopic approaches as well as intracavitary/intraluminal approaches. The applicators are configured to create large volume thermal ablation zones with minimal radiation losses along the applicator axis traveling proximal to the ablation zone. This effect is accomplished by employing a backward-facing choke element and/or a multi-slotted antenna having a plurality of spaced-apart conducting elements encircling the antenna.

摘要: The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for decreasing permissiveness to infection by PRRSV. The methods involve inserting peptides or oligopeptides into the CD163 SRCR domain 5 to disrupt the protein structure and thereby prevent PRRSV infection. The deletion of the exon 13 region of PSTII eliminates infection. The replacement of cysteine residues with alanines in SRCR5 as a means to disrupt disulfide bond formation. The final method is the deletion of, or amino acid substitution within the SRCR4-5 interdomain region.

摘要: Provided herein are treatments for reducing pain in dogs. The treatments generally comprise a combination of an opioid compound, such as methadone, and an azole compound, such as fluconazole. The treatments may further comprise an opioid abuse deterrent that advantageously inhibits opioid effects in humans while maintaining desirable analgesic effects in dogs. Additionally, the treatments provided herein avoid the undesirable side effects of prior art opioid treatments for dogs. The treatments may be administered as separate doses or in a single formulation product for improved compliance. The treatments have wide use potential in dogs from perioperative patients to inpatients and outpatients and may be used, for example, for sedation in minor procedures, analgesia, and decreasing temperature in canine patients.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for authentication of a queried device having an electrical circuit exhibiting physically unclonable functions (PUFs). The method includes: at the queried device, generating a first random number based on an initial first counter value; matching the first random number against a first value of a record stored in a database of a querying device, the record including second (shuffled) and third values; at the queried device, generating a second random number based on a once incremented first counter value, deterministically generating a de-shuffled second value based on an initial second counter value, determining that the second random number matches the de-shuffled second value, and submitting sub-challenges corresponding to the second random number to the electrical circuit to generate a response; and, at the querying device, determining that the response matches the third value of the record to complete a first authentication of the queried device.
