    Abstract: Hard red winter variety designated KS Territory is disclosed, including plants and seeds thereof. The variety is white-glumed, with good grain shattering resistance, good straw strength and average test weight and is adapted to the semi-arid growing regions of Kansas. Methods for producing a wheat plant produced by crossing the variety KS Territory with another wheat plant, and hybrid wheat seeds and plants produced by crossing the variety KS Territory with another wheat line or plant, and the creation of variants by backcrossing, mutagenesis or transformation of variety KS Territory are disclosed. Methods for producing other wheat varieties or breeding lines derived from wheat variety KS Territory and to wheat varieties or breeding lines produced by those methods are also provided.

    Abstract: Methods of making and using an improved electrochemical catalyst are provided herein. Catalysts as described herein include a carbon-containing support at least partially coated with a transition metal oxide shell. Catalytic nanoparticles, such as platinum nanoparticles, ruthenium nanoparticles, and/or PtRu alloy nanoparticles, are dispersed in and/or on the shell. The catalysts exhibit enhanced long-term stability and electrochemical activity, particularly with respect to the oxidation of methanol. Microwave-assisted synthesis and thermal annealing steps make the process of producing these catalysts both efficient and more easily scalable. The resulting catalysts have a wide range of end uses in renewable energy applications, including various types of fuel cells.

    Abstract: A computing device to authenticate works of art comprises a processor programmed to receive test image data corresponding to an image of a test painting to be authenticated; receive a plurality of first artist image data files; receive a plurality of multiple artist image data files; generate a plurality of test painting tiles from the test image data file; generate a plurality of groups of first artist painting tiles; generate a plurality of groups of multiple artist painting tiles; train a classifier to determine one of a plurality of classes for each first artist painting tile and each multiple artist painting tile; use the trained classifier to determine the class for each test painting tile; and determine whether the test painting was likely painted by the first artist according to a percentage of the test painting tiles determined to be the class corresponding to the first artist.
