摘要: An engine includes a balancer shaft that is supported at its both ends through bearings disposed within an engine crankcase. The balancer shaft lies generally parallel with a crankshaft and includes balancer weights, which are provided generally at the ends of the balancer shaft. At least one of the balancer weights is made up of first and second weight portions. The first and second weight portions are disposed on opposite sides of the corresponding bearing. In this manner, the bending moment on the shaft is reduced and, consequently, the balancer shaft can have a smaller diameter to reduce the size of the crankcase.

摘要: A watercraft has steering force detection sections. Each steering force detection section includes a pressure receiving section. The pressure receiving sections are spaced from each other and are in the vicinity of a steering shaft. A pressing member is coupled to the steering shaft. The pressing member can press on at least one of the pressure receiving sections when the steering handlebars are rotated to a maximum steering angle. A received pressure detection section detects the pressure applied to the pressure receiving section. The pressure receiving section and the received pressure detection section are coaxially mounted in a pressure receiving section casing and a detection section casing. A guide tube can engage the pressure receiving section and the received pressure detection section. The guide tube is formed with ribs and grooves. The pressure receiving section has a pressure receiving member, a bolt, a plain washer, and a spring member.

The engine unit includes a transmission case having a belt chamber containing the V-belt continuously variable transmission. A footrest is arranged on an outer side in a vehicle width direction of the transmission case. An intake duct that guides air for cooling the V-belt type continuously variable transmission is disposed on an outer side in a vehicle width direction of the center tunnel and on an upper side of the transmission case.

摘要: Improved cooling capacity for a V-belt continuously variable transmission that is compatible with miniaturization of a vehicle body cover is provided in a saddle-ride type vehicle. A concave-shaped space recessed downward is compartmented forward of a seat by a vehicle body cover. An engine unit is supported by the vehicle body frame below the concave-shaped space. The engine unit includes a transmission case formed with a belt chamber in which a V-belt continuously variable transmission is accommodated. An intake duct defines an air passage communicated to the belt chamber. The intake duct is arranged between the transmission case and a leg shield.

摘要: A number of embodiments of exhaust systems for outboard motors wherein the exhaust ports of the engine discharge the exhaust gases to the atmosphere through an underwater high speed exhaust gas discharge. A trap device is provided for precluding the water from the underwater exhaust gas discharge entering the engine through its exhaust ports. This trap device includes a section that extends above the highest exhaust port of the engine for this purpose.

摘要: An adjustable shock absorber is provided having means for adjusting the damping curves and breakover characteristics of the shock absorber while the shock absorber is installed in a vehicle. The shock absorber has a generally elongated cylindrical body defined by concentrically mounted inner and outer cylinders. A pair of end caps mounted on the ends of the inner and outer cylinders retain a working medium therein. Disposed within the elongated inner cylinder is a movable piston defining upper and lower chambers. Working medium is transportable between the upper and lower chambers via an annular passage formed between the inner and outer cylinders. A plurality of adjustable valves are disposed in the path of transportation of the working medium for providing an adjustable damping function.
